Whether it’s a clutch goal or a cocktail, nothing beats “top shelf.” In this novel from the bestselling author of the Heller Brothers Hockey series, a fun-loving jock and an ambitious career woman mix business with pleasure.
Not only is Jared Rupp one of the stars of the NHL’s Chicago Aces, he’s also the owner of the Sin Bin, the after-hours hot spot where the whole team hangs out. Lately, Jared can’t take his eyes off the woman he’s hired to give the Bin a more modern feel: a sexy, sophisticated consultant who has carved out a niche updating drink menus. She’s as passionate about her career as Jared is about hockey—and yet he can’t help wondering what kind of cocktail she really wants.
In her line of work, Sidney Frayne is used to guys hitting on her in bars, but Jared gets her hot enough to burst into flames. When he’s wining and dining her, he’s sophisticated as hell; on the rink, he’s a testosterone-fueled powerhouse. Still, Sidney’s bitter divorce taught her to keep her emotions on ice. With her busy schedule—and Jared’s playboy reputation—she’s not sure she’s ready for a fling. Because if she lets Jared into her bed, she just may have to let him into her heart.

My Thoughts:  The Aces Hockey Series by Kelly Jamieson is one that I've enjoyed very much.  This latest installment, Top Shelf, is another great addition.  Jared Rupp a hot, sexy, hockey player, who we've met in the previous novels.  He owns the Sin Bin, a restaurant/bar which is one of the favorite hang-out spots of the team.  When Sidney Fraye happens into the Sin Bin one day, Jared soon finds himself not only hiring her, but falling for her as well.  Sidney has been burned in the past and that experience has kept her from getting attached to anyone again.  This former player is ready to take a chance on something real, and is determined to get Sidney to do the same, willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.  The rules of the game, however, keep getting blurred as their relationship progresses, and the more they find out about each other, and about each other's pasts, they both soon realize there is much more to the other than they thought.

I loved both Jared and Sidney's characters, and I especially loved how Jared was with her.  The hottie turned out to be a really all-around great guy.  I enjoyed watching the relationship between Sidney and Jared progress, and the way the each fell harder for one another as they learned what made the other tick.  It was also good to get a glimpse of the characters from the previous two books as well.  If you're a fan of a good romance, especially sports-themed romance, then Top Shelf is a book you will most definitely want to add to your reading list.

Review: The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken

Title: The Bachelor Auction
Author: Rachel Van Dyken
Series: The Bachelors of Arizona #1
On Sale: October 4, 2016
Publisher: Forever
Formats: eBook
Price: $4.99 USD (eBook)

Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince wouldnever agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a fa├žade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . . .

The Bachelor Auction #1

My Thoughts:  If you enjoy fairytales, then The Bachelor is something you will want to add to your TBR list for sure.  It's a Cinderalla type of story set in modern day, with a bit of a hot and spicy edge to it.  Jane, your modern day Cinderalla, has been tasked, or so she believes, with keeping her family together after the death of her father.  Her two sisters take her for granted, work her to death, and think of her more as a "Plain Jane," whose main purpose in life is to serve them.  Brock Wellington is the prince in the story, and though he comes from wealth, he to feels extreme guilt and responsibility to his grandfather, always sacrifiing his own happiness and desires to please him.

Fate brings these two together via a broken shoe and though they never expect to run across each other again, they find themselves in a completely different situation, though this time, neither seems to happy about it.  Brock is the main event at the Bachelor Auction his grandfather is planning, an event he is not happy about having to particpate in.  When he and Jane find themselves forced together for several weeks, he finds he's extremely attracted to Jane, but his grandfather's plan doesn't allow for a fling with the hired help.  He attempts to stay away from her - and he is a bit of a jerk about it - being not very nice at all to her.  Enter at this point Brock's twin brothers, both of whom I just loved, and you have yourself a very fun, funny, and sexy story.  I'm looking forward to the twins stories as well.  The Bachelor Auction is a good read - check it out.

I had to have something more to offer her.I’m here now, money is no object and I have no equal. Except for her. She’s disappeared. But don’t worry, I will find her and claim her.               I was in the Point for less than a day when I got word that the man that ran the streets wanted to see me. I like to lay low. I liked to blend in, but here it didn’t see like that was an option. Instead of desert sand, the battleground here was asphalt and concrete, and as soon as my presence was known, it was as if this place recognized the fight lying dormant inside of me. This city called to it. I don’t know why I instantly felt like I fit, but I did. So I went to see the man in charge, fully expecting to offer him the last of my cash in order to gain a foothold in the desolate kingdom. I was a survivor. I could do without money for a little bit. No man was more resourceful than I was.
I walked into a disgustingly gaudy strip club, offended by its crass ugliness. I was expecting to meet the ruler of the land, state my intentions, and let him know I would bow to no man here or anywhere else ever again. I was expecting a shakedown and maybe some strong-arming since I was obviously foreign and undocumented. I was technically legal since my mother had been an American citizen before she fell in love with an extremist, but I hadn’t really existed on paper since she handed me over to killers and radicals when I was just a kid. Mossad didn’t want me to be anything other than their trained attack dog, so they hadn’t offered up any proof of identity for me during my time at the end of their string. What I wasn’t expecting was that my cause, my reason, my purpose for living, and my something to believe in would be dancing nearly naked on a horrifically ugly stage, looking like she was going to cry at any second. She was so much more than freedom.
              She was Honor.
She was beautiful, young, innocent, and so obviously resigned to her fate. It pulled at a heart I was stunned to find I still had buried somewhere deep underneath the brutal history that filled up the inside of me. It was the first time I felt it beat, and the pulse of its yearning scared and electrified me in equal measure.
I started to move toward her like all those invisible gods I spent my life killing for were leading me directly to her when suddenly a man twice her age and triple her size leaped from his seat next to the stage and hurled himself up onto the platform directly at the girl. In the blink of an eye he was on top of her, rough hands all over her naked flesh. I heard her scream. I saw her long limbs flail and thrash under him. A red haze filled my vision and I forgot all about staying quiet and laying low. I forgot all about being a ghost, and realized that I could channel the fight that had been forged into my very soul, the fight that was slumbering restlessly inside me at that moment, into protecting something so innocent. She woke the fight up and she kept it alive.

Review: Deadly Silence by Rebecca Zanetti

Author: Rebecca Zanetti
Series: Blood Brothers, #1
On Sale: October 4, 2016
Publisher: Forever

The first book in a breathtaking new romantic suspense series that will appeal to fans of New York Times bestsellers Maya Banks, Lisa Gardner, and Lisa Jackson.

Under siege. That's how Ryker Jones feels. The Lost Bastards Investigative Agency he opened up with his blood brothers has lost a client in a brutal way. The past he can't outrun is resurfacing, threatening to drag him down in the undertow. And the beautiful woman he's been trying to keep at arm's length is in danger...and he'll destroy anything and anyone to keep her safe.

Paralegal Zara Remington is in over her head. She's making risky moves at work by day and indulging in an affair with a darkly dangerous PI by night. There's a lot Ryker isn't telling her and the more she uncovers, the less she wants to know. But when all hell breaks loose, Ryker may be the only one to save her. If his past doesn't catch up to them first...

Full of twists and turns you won't see coming, DEADLY SILENCE is New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti at her suspenseful best.

My Thoughts:  I loved this book, just loved it.  Deadly Silence is the first book in Rebecca Zanetti's Blood Brothers Series.  It is a spin-off from her Sin Brothers Series, which I haven't read yet, but believe me I will be reading it soon.  Deadly Silence is romantic suspense at its best, with a little bit of Syfy mixed in.  Ryker Jones is the perfect mix of danger, hotness, and pure badass.  He and his brothers, Heath and Denver,  have a knack for finding people, and are the best private investigators you can hire to do just that.  They have a mysterious and dangerous past, one they've been running from for quite some time.   However, when Zara Remington turns out to be much more than a fling for Ryker, he finds himself wanting to stay close to her.  Zara is a paralegal, and when a case her firm is working on suddenly puts her in some serious danger, Ryker's protective instincts kick in and he finds himself doing anything and everything in his power to keep her safe.  Meanwhile, he and his brothers find themselves facing their own past, whether they're ready to or not.  The one thing Ryker never wanted though, was for his past and present (meaning Zara) to collide........

As things become even more dangerous, the answers to questions Ryker has had all his life are revealed, explaining why he and his brothers are the way they are and why they can do the things they do.  During this process, there are nonstop twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages to the wee hours of the morning, not wanting to put the story down.  That, combined with the red hot romance, makes for one fantastic and exciting read.  I am dying to read the next book in the series, as well as get to know the Dean Brothers from Zanetti's Sin Brothers Series, who make an appearance in this book as well.

Deadly Silence is a must read for fans of Rebecca Zanetti and fans of romantic suspense as well.   I most definitely recommend picking this one up.

Review: Take Me Deeper by Jackie Ashenden

Take Me Deeper
(Texas Bounty #1)
by Jackie Ashenden
  • Publisher: Loveswept (October 4, 2016)
  • Publication Date: October 4, 2016
  • Sold by: Random House LLC

Goodreads  |  Amazon  |  Barnes and Noble

Jackie Ashenden’s tantalizing series introduces the men of Lone Star Bounty: three badass bounty-hunter brothers who will have readers begging to be caught.

Even as a Green Beret, Zane Redmond hasn’t faced a tougher mission than going home again. Loyalty to his brothers is the only reason he’s back in Texas, not that he intends to stay for long. Zane sure as hell isn’t going into the family business. One last bounty and he’s done—or so he thinks. Nobody warned him that his fugitive happens to be a red-hot brunette with a smart mouth, a body made for sin, and a brutal cartel on her trail.

Bad circumstances and worse choices have left Iris Callahan in a desperate situation. After getting arrested for a drug drop gone wrong, she skipped bail and hit the road to avoid testifying. Now the cartel wants Iris silenced forever, and she’s just lucky that Zane catches her before they do. Handcuffed to a bed, she surrenders to the cool-as-ice bounty hunter in order to survive. But as the chase heats up, Zane sneaks past her emotional defenses—and Iris is in too deep to let him go.

My Thoughts:   I've read several of Jackie Ashenden's books lately and have become a fan of her work.  Take Me Deeper is the first book in her new Texas Bounty Series, which features the oh so hot Zane Redmond......and he has two hot brothers whose stories I can't wait to read as well.  Zane is pure Alpha male, in the Special Forces, and tough as nails.  His brothers run the family bounty hunting business, but the past has kept Zane away from home, his brothers and the business with no desire to return.  Enter at this point the female lead, Iris Callahan.  Her past, circumstances beyond her control, and bad choices have landed her in a very dangerous place that has her on the radar of some very bad people, as well as the police.  When she and Zane cross paths, however, there is just something about her he can't let go, and he finds himself determined to help her, even if it means facing his his past.

Take Me Deeper is filled with suspense, danger, and red hot romance.  The relationship between Iris and Zane is intense, and sometimes raw, with both of them having been affected deeply by their past wounds, actions, and responsibilities.  Ashenden does a great job of setting the scene for what is to come in Take Me Deeper, and I enjoyed getting to meet the secondary characters that I am sure we will see a lot more of as the series progresses.  I look forward to seeing what she has in store for her readers next.

Heat from his body washed over her, but she lifted her head to meet his gaze. “We don’t have a relationship.”
He smiled then, and the curve of his lips held more determination than amusement. “I’m not letting you run, and I’m certainly not letting you hide, baby. Although neither of us has been in this for the long haul, I’m staying in Wyoming for the moment. The first thing that’s going to happen is I’m going to figure out who dared put a hand on you and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
For the first time, she saw a side of him that gave her true pause. In the long haul, he’d be unbearably possessive. Why did that give her an intriguing sense of safety? “Knock it off,” she snapped in his face. “Get out of my business.”
That quickly, she found her back against the door and her front pinned by hard male. His hands planted on either side of her neck, his thumbs at her jaw, forcing her to look at him. “Something you need to understand and pretty damn quick is that your business is my business right now.” His thumb swept up and over the offensive bruise on her face.
“Step back.” Her voice trembled.
He ignored the very calm order. “No. You don’t want to tell me who did this? Fine. I’ll find out on my own, and I’ll have the name by the time I pick you up for supper. What you don’t want to do is deal with him or his case until I have that name. Kicking him in the balls might’ve just pissed him off more, and now you’ve let a bully stew on it for a while, which might be dangerous for you. Got it?”
“You have no right to interfere,” she whispered.
“Baby, I’ve been fuckin’ you for months. That gives me every right.” Anger glowed dark in his eyes.
“We’re done. Get out.”
His eyes softened. “You shouldn’t make statements you can’t back up.”
She shoved against his ripped abs.
He didn’t move a millimeter.
And then he did.
His head dipped, and his mouth found her neck and wandered up to her ear. His teeth scraped, and then his tongue licked the slight wound.
Of its own volition, her body did a full tremble.
He leaned back. “That.”
Her mind fuzzed.
His mouth slammed down on hers. She knew his kiss—often dreamed about it. Not soft and sweet . . . not even lustful. It was dangerous. From day one, she’d tasted danger on his tongue, and it burned her hotter than she’d ever been.
Never had she dated a bad boy, but after living her desired routine-driven life for years, she’d craved adventure, and he filled that need. He drew out a wildness she hadn’t realized she possessed.
He held her flush against the door, kissing her hard, sending a craving along her nerves that almost hurt. His tongue went to work, his left hand keeping her jaw open for him. His right hand found her hip and dragged her against the obvious bulge in his jeans. By the time he released her, she’d stopped thinking completely.
“What time are you finished today?” he asked, his breath heating her face.
“Fi-five,” she stuttered.
He leaned back and gently put her to the side. “Stay in the office until I come for you at five, Zara.” He ran his thumb across her bottom lip. “Cross me on this, baby, and I ain’t gonna be gentle.” He had already shut the door behind himself before she could take a whole breath.
She blinked several times, her fingers going to her still-tingling mouth. What had just happened?

Rebecca Zanetti is the author of over twenty-five romantic suspense, dark paranormal, and contemporary romances, and her books have appeared multiple times on the New York Times, USA Today, and Amazon bestseller lists. Review: Hard to Hold by Katie Rose from Loveswept

Hard to Hold
by Katie Rose
Published:  September 13. 2006
Publisher:  Loveswept

Goodreads  |  Amazon  |  Barnes and Noble

“Katie Rose writes sexy, skilled sports heroes who know how to treat a woman right!” raves Wendy S. Marcus. Now the award-winning author of the Bad Boys of Baseball series introduces a team of soccer stars who score on and off the pitch.

New Jersey Hurricanes striker Logan Hart lives for the grind of training, the adrenaline of competition, and all the perks of the road—until his ex hands him a baby and tells Logan to raise her on his own. He’s eager to pass this bundle of joy into more capable hands and get back to his hard-playing, hard-partying ways. But when a beautiful, blond drill sergeant of a nanny turns Logan’s life upside down, he sets a new goal: winning her heart.

Isabella Bennett takes pride in teaching the rich and famous how to become loving families. Her no-nonsense style is just what Logan and his crying, copper-haired cutie need. So why can’t she get the image of Logan’s tanned, muscular body out of her head? Isabella’s here to whip a new father into shape, not fall for a sexy ladies’ man. But their chemistry is too tantalizing to ignore, much like the temptation to trust someone with her deepest secrets—and embrace a loving family all her own.

My Thoughts:  I really enjoy Katie Rose's books.  She writes the kind of contemporary romance that you can just sit back and lose yourself in....enjoyable, fun, and romantic, and Hard to Hold is just that kind of book.  Logan is the on so swoon-worthy soccer player whose status is changed to that of new dad in the blink of an eye.  Isabella is the new Nanny, who is the best at what she does, but also beautiful, which does not go unnoticed by Logan.  They try to keep things professional, but that proves to be quite difficult, despite both their best efforts.  The one wonderful thing to come out of his one-night-stand is Cinnamon, the beautiful little red-headed bundle of joy that Logan and everyone else who meets her can't help falling in love with.

Logan and Isabella do, of course, have their share of obstacles to overcome as their relationship progresses and issues with the permanency of Cinnamon's custody status comes into play, and I love the way Logan's character develops into a stand-up and standout dad in this process.

Hard to Hold is a wonderful beginning to Katie Rose's new Hard to Play series.  I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next installment.

Review: Shadow Falling by Rebecca Zanetti

Shadow Falling
Scorpius Syndrome #2
by Rebecca Zanetti
Published:  August 30, 2016
Publisher:  Zebra
Sold by:  Penguin Random House

Goodreads  |  Amazon  |  Barnes and Noble

Before the Scorpius Syndrome tore through North America and nearly wiped out the population, Vivienne Wellington was the FBI’s best profiler. The bacteria got her anyway. But she survived. She recovered. And when she woke up from a drug-nightmare of captivity, her skills as a hunter of men had gone from merely brilliant to full-on uncanny. Her mysterious rescuer wants her to put them to the test. But no matter how tempting he is, with his angel’s eyes and devil’s tongue, Vinnie knows she shouldn’t trust him.

If the FBI were still around they would rate Raze Shadow as one of the bad guys. His military training can’t wipe out his association with the Mercenaries, the most feared gang in a thousand miles. His loyalties are compromised. He won’t even tell Vinnie his real name. But there’s no FBI in the new America of fear and firepower, only instinct and risk.

And the way his arms wrap around Vinnie tells its own story. Whatever else Raze is concealing, he can’t hide his desire . . .

My Thoughts:  Shadow Falling is the second book in Rebecca Zanetti's Scorpius Syndrome Series, and though I haven't read the first book, I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to go back and read Mercury Rising.   Set in a post-apocolyptic world where the majority of the human race has been infected by a mysterious virus that has killed many, left many completely crazy and out of their mind, others partially insane, and some sane, but dependent on vitamin B to survive.  The few that haven't been infected are few and far between.  Raze is a mercenary and the hero of this book.  Vinnie is the female lead who he has rescued and is falling for, despite his attempts not to.  He has a secret agenda, however, one he doesn't want to carry out, yet one he has to, despite his growing feelings for this woman.

They live on a compound which is comprised of those not infected, and those sane, but dependent on the serum in order to continue to be that way.  Danger lurks at every corner and requires constant vigilance, determination, and battle in order to survive.  Raze finds himself in one of the fiercest battles of all, along with his new companions, as they work together to both save and keep safe those they love.  They find themselves in an alliance with those they aren't sure they can trust, in the middle of a battle they aren't sure they can win.

Shadow falling has danger, excitement, suspense, and romance all wrapped up into one.  If you enjoy post-apocolyptic novels, then the Scorpius Syndrome Series by Rebecca Zanetti is one you most definitely will want to check out.

Blog Tour: The One Real Thing by Samantha Young with Excerpt, Review, and Giveaway

by Samantha Young
Published:  September 6, 2016
Publisher:  Berkley

About the book:
Welcome to Hartwell, a quiet seaside escape where uncovering old secrets could lead one woman to discover the meaning of a love that lasts…
While Doctor Jessica Huntington engages with the inmates at the women’s correctional facility where she works, she’s always careful to avoid emotional attachments in her personal life.  Loss and betrayal taught her that lesson long ago. But when she comes across a set of old love letters in the prison’s library and visits the picturesque town of Hartwell to deliver them to their intended recipient, she finds herself unable to resist the town’s charm—and her attraction to the sexy owner of a local bar proves equally hard to deny.
Since his divorce from his unfaithful ex-wife, Cooper Lawson has focused on what really matters: his family and the boardwalk pub they’ve owned for generations.  But the first time Jessica steps into his bar, Cooper is beyond tempted to risk his heart on her.
Yet as their attraction grows hotter and Jessica remains stubbornly closed off, he begins to realize it will take more than just passion to convince her there’s only one real thing in life worth fighting for…

THE ONE REAL THING by Samantha Young
Blog Tour Excerpt
Why did it feel like having sex had complicated things so much? Usually sex was complication-free for me.
But before that night I’d been completely sure that Cooper was interested in exploring something more with me, and now I was freaking out that his interest would wane now that he’d had me.
I shook my head slowly. “No. It was good.”
He scowled, his arms tightening around me so much there wasn’t an inch of space between us. “It was better than fucking good, Jessica.”
I scowled back and pushed at his chest for some breathing space. “Well, I’m sure you’d know all about that.”
“What the fuck does that mean?”
“You use the word ‘fuck’ a lot.”
“It’s a good fucking word.”
I was tempted to laugh at how disgruntled he sounded and he seemed to catch my amusement because his hold on me eased.
“What’s going on in your head, Jess?”
I thought about evading this conversation. I’d never had to have an adult, open conversation with a man about sex. However, I realized, somewhat reluctantly, if I wanted something more with Cooper Lawson I was going to have to give him more than I was used to giving.
I couldn’t change his past, but I could figure out what it was he wanted in the future by just being honest and asking the question.
“You still want something with me, right? This”—I gestured behind me to the table—“it wasn’t just about sex.”
“No,” he said. “It’s not just about sex.”
As I heaved a sigh of relief, he let go of my waist to cup my face in his hands, dipping his head down to mine so our noses almost touched. He stared deep into my eyes and I shivered. I felt like he was trying to see right into my soul.
“I’m in this for the long haul, Doc. I was before you walked into my bar tonight, but now, after the best fucking sex of my life, after how wild that was, there’s no way I’m letting you walk out of here without me.”
And there he went doing it again.
His words resonated deep within me along with giving me that deep, sexual belly flip of arousal.
My fingers curled into the top of his biceps. “Best sex of my life, too,” I murmured. “It stunned me a little. Confused me . . . I thought maybe . . . you . . . this was old hat for you . . .”
He gave me a crooked grin. “You think I make a habit of fucking women in my bar.”
“You could,” I said. “You are definitely a man who could pull that off.”
Cooper threw his head back in laughter and I pressed my body deeper into his to feel his joy.
And then he wrapped his arms around me and hugged me.
Just as I’d suspected, he was a really good hugger.
When he pulled back he was smiling gently at me. “You’re the only woman I’ve had in my bar.” He let me go only to take my hand in his. “No one sits at that table anymore.” He gestured to the scene of the best sex we’d both ever had. “It’s now a shrine.”
“You can’t do that!” I was mortified at the possibility of people finding out why there was a table in Cooper Lawson’s bar that no one was allowed to sit at.
“I can. It’s my bar. I think I’ll even carve ‘Coop and Doc were here’ on it.”
Finally getting that he was joking, I made a face. “Funny.”
“You’re slow on the uptake tonight,” he teased.
“My brain was just frazzled by the orgasm to beat all orgasms.”
He squeezed my hand. “You up for more brain frazzling?”
I shivered at the thought. “Definitely.”
His eyes darkened. “Let’s go back to my place.”
Exhilarated by the prospect, I followed him, and it wasn’t until we’d stepped outside the bar into the cool night air that I said, “I don’t suppose you know where my panties are?”
“I do, actually.” He led me to the back of his bar to the parking lot. A dark-colored GMC was the only truck there.
“Um . . . could I have them, please?”
He stopped me at the passenger side of the truck, pressing me up against the car. “Why?” he whispered against my lips before he kissed me deeply. He came up for air a few seconds later. “You’re not going to need them where we’re going.”
The nagging pressure between my legs increased. “You are so very, very good at stringing the exact right words together.”
He kissed me again.
“You’re just good with your mouth in general,” I murmured.
Cooper grinned and brushed his lips over mine. “In the truck, Doc.”

My Review:  The One Real Thing by Samantha Young is a great beginning to what looks to be a fantastic series.  The story takes place in the beautiful town of Hartwell.  Dr. Jessica Huntington finds herself after making a discovery while working as a prison doctor, with the intention of possibly bringing hope, help, closure, and peace to someone else on behalf of another someone who never had the chance to do it themselves.  Driven by her dark past, Jessica feels guilty and unworthy much of the time, with the events of said past having shaped her perception and actions in the present.

Circumstances soon cause Jessica to find herself in the oh-so-very-hot presence of bar owner Cooper Lawson, a man she can't seem to resist, while at the same time trying to convince herself that resisting his magnetic pull is exactly what she needs to do.  Cooper Lawson is hot, sexy, protective, and definitely alpha, but he has also has been wounded by his past, leaving him gun-shy when it comes to relationships that involve more than sex....that is until he meets Dr. Jessica Huntington, who he can't seem to stop thinking about.  He knows he wants her, and she wants him more than anything as well,  but past secrets that have been buried deep threaten to take that away from both of them.

I loved both Cooper and Jessica's characters and their romance, with all its ups and downs, and especially all the really hot times as well.  The story line was great, and despite the heartache, the joy that ensued makes everything worth it.  The secondary characters were also phenomenal, and I can't wait until the next installment is ready in order to start reading about them as well.  Fans of Samantha Young will definitely want to check this series out, as well as contemporary romance fans in general.
The One Real Thing is a great read and definitely something I would recommend checking out.
