I'm a hopeful romantic who adores novels with happy endings, because there are enough sad endings in real life. Release Day Event: Wild Reckless by Ginger Scott with Excerpt and Giveaway

Join us in celebrating the release of WILD RECKLESS by Ginger Scott!

WILD RECKLESS
Very Mature YA Contemporary Romance
Scheduled to release: March 17, 2015

BLURB:
Kensington Worth had a vision for her senior year. It involved her best friends, her posh private school in downtown Chicago and time alone with her piano until her audition was perfected, a guaranteed ticket into the best music programs in the world.

Instead, a nightmare took over.

It didn’t happen all at once, but her life unraveled quickly—a tiny thread that evil somehow kept pulling until everything precious was taken from her. She was suddenly living miles away from her old life, trapped in an existence she didn’t choose—one determined to destroy her from the inside, leaving only hate and anger behind. It didn’t help that her neighbor, the one whose eyes held danger, was enjoying every second of her fall.

Owen Harper was trouble, his heart wild and his past the kind that’s spoken about in whispers. And somehow, his path was always intertwined with Kensington’s, every interaction crushing her, ruining her hope for any future better than her now. Sometimes, though, what everyone warns is trouble, is exactly what the heart needs. Owen Harper was consumed with darkness, and it held onto his soul for years. When Kensington looked at him, she saw a boy who’d gotten good at taking others down when they threatened his carefully balanced life. But the more she looked, the more she saw other things too—good things…things to admire.

Things…to love. Things that made her want to be reckless.

And those things…they were the scariest of all.

I dodge backpacks and elbows through the busy hallway until I see the glass door of the principal’s office swing open, Owen stepping through, his own pink slip crumpled in his hand, his eyes still dark, angry.

“Are you okay?” I ask, walking up to him, my steps coming quicker. He grabs my hand fast, his grip on my fingers tight, almost painful, and pulls me behind him through the thick crowd in the hall until we reach the back door, near the loading zone for the cafeteria. He pushes down hard, forcing the door open, then pulls my arm, leading me around a corner to a line of recycling bins.

“I’m so sorry…” I start, but Owen’s hands find me fast, his fingers wrapping around my shoulders, his force moving me back until I’m flush with the wall, and then his lips crash down on me.

His hands slide from my shoulders to my neck and into my hair, his mouth covering mine as if he needs my air to breathe, and he closes the small distance between us, the warmth and hardness of him pressing into my body, my hands operating on their own instinct, finding his sides and back until I’m clinging to him, grabbing bunches of his black sweatshirt all at once.

Owen’s hand moves to his head while he’s kissing me, and he tosses his hat to the ground to the side of us, and I let my fingers move to his hair, weaving the strands in and out, letting the softness of them curl around me.

This is the best kiss of my life. Every kiss with Owen has been the best kiss of my life. But this one—it’s full of something more. His lips work mine for long seconds, his tongue passing over mine slowly, his teeth dragging over my bottom lip, my top lip, tugging on me and pulling me into him even deeper. I can feel his heartbeat through his shirt, and I let my hands roam over his chest and around his back again, the feel of him exactly as it is every time I dream.

Happy Release Day! Pocketful of Sand by M. Leighton

Pocketful of Sand M. Leighton
A story of heartbreak, loss, redemption and second chances: Pocketful of Sand from New York Times bestselling author M. Leighton

“She’s beauty for my ashes. And I’m hope for her heartache.”—Cole Danzer

Pocketful-of-Sand250I don’t know what makes a great love story. Is it that instant attraction when boy meets girl? The passionate kisses and the fairy-tale ending? Or is it a lifetime of tragedy, paid in advance, for a few stolen moments of pure bliss? The pain and the suffering that, in the end, you can say are worth it for having found the missing piece of your soul?

The answer is: I don’t know. I don’t know what makes a great love story. I only know what makes my love story. I only know that finding Cole when I did, when Emmy and I were running from a nightmare, was the only thing that saved me. That saved us. He was more broken than I was, but somehow we took each other’s shattered pieces and made a whole. If that is what makes a great love story, if that is what makes an epic romance, then mine…ours is the greatest of them all.

Contains material that some may find disturbing. Not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Review: Becoming Rain by K.A. Tucker

Becoming Rain (Burying Water #2)
by K.A. Tucker
Published:  March 3, 2015
Publisher:  Atria Books

Luke Boone doesn't know exactly what his uncle Rust is involved in but he wants in on it-the cars, the money, the women. And it looks like he's finally getting his wish. When Rust hands him the managerial keys to the garage, they come with a second set-one that opens up the door to tons of cash and opportunity. Though it's not exactly legal, Luke's never been one to worry about that sort of thing. Especially when it puts him behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 and onto the radar of gorgeous socialite named Rain.

Clara Bertelli is at the top of her game-at only twenty-six years old, she's one of the most successful undercover officers in the Washington D.C. major crime unit, and she's just been handed a case that could catapult her career and expose one of the west coast's most notorious car theft rings. But, in order to do it, she'll need to go deep undercover as Rain Martines. Her target? The twenty-four-year old nephew of a key player who appears ready to follow in his uncle's footsteps.

As Clara drifts deeper into the luxurious lifestyle of Rain, and further into the arms of her very attractive and charming target, the lines between right and wrong start to blur, making her wonder if she'll be able to leave it all behind. Or if she'll even want to.

Goodreads  |  Amazon  |  Barnes and Noble  |  Audible

My Thoughts:  I love K.A. Tucker's books and After reading Burying Water, I couldn't  wait to read Becoming Rain to see what she had in store for her readers with the next installment in this series.  We originally met Luke Boone in Burying Water, and in Becoming Rain we really get to know him, and I absolutely loved him.  His Uncle Rust has been like a father to him, and he has looked up to him since he was a child, wanting to follow in his footsteps.  Luke is finally at the point where Uncle Rust is beginning to let him actively partitipcate in his business, but with this promotion, Luke also has to open his eyes to the not so pretty or legal aspects of the business.  He's always known "how things worked," but as he gets more involved, the stress and danger are taken to a whole new level.

Rain Martin is the undercover identity of Clara Bertelli, and this assignment has the ability to make or break her career.  As she goes deeper undercover, she begins to fall for Luke, seeing what a good guy he is, despite what he's involved with. Suddenly her black and white world has a lot more grey in it, which makes this novel even more interesting.

The chemistry between Rain and Luke is hot, and I enjoyed the romantic aspect of the story very much.  Then there is the excitement, danger, and suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat as well.  I enjoyed the way K.A. Tucker ended the story also.  Becoming Rain is something contemporary romance fans, and romantic suspense fans will definitely want to pick up.

Reviews: Seduction's Kiss and Lure by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Seductions Kiss
Seduction's Kiss
The Allure Chronicles 0.5
Published:  January 29, 2015

*Prequel novella to Lure (The Allure Chronicles #1)*

Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she reconnects with an ex-boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my advice:

1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire's nest mates
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero

Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when no one believes you that he exists.

My Thoughts:  I loved Alyssa Rose Ivy's Crescent Chronicles  series, as well as her spinoff series, The Empire Chronicles.  It was in these series that we came to know and love Owen. Seduction's Kiss is the prequel to Ivy's new series, The Allure Chronicles, and is Owen's story.  In this short prequel you dive head first into the middle of all kinds of paranormal activity set in the heart of New Orleans.  Though, short, Seductions Kiss is action packed and delivers a punch in a small package.  Ivy has set the stage for what looks to be an awesome story.

Lure
The Allure Chronicles #1

About LURE:
There's danger in the beauty...

Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That's how long it had been since I'd seen my winged hero— not that I'd been counting. I'd suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn't crazy and knew he didn't exist.

But he did. And I was done waiting.

Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier... thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.

Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** GooglePlay ** iTunes ** Kobo

My Thoughts:  It's been a couple of years since the events that occured in Seductions Kiss.  Daisy hasn't stopped thinking about her winged hero or the events that occured 2-1/2 years ago.  Now she finds herself back in New Orleans, determined to find Owen once again.  While there, she runs into and is befriended by some extraordinary and very intriguing paranormals, called Allures.  Daisy soon finds herserslf in a whirlwind of a journey with these mystical beings who have agreed to help her in her quest to find Owen, but there is also much more going on that she isn't aware of, and that is the disturbing part.  When Daisy and Owen finally find each other, could it be to lose each other all over again?

I very much enjoyed Seductions Kiss and couldn't wait to read Lure.  While Lure is definitley intriguing, it wasn't quite as exciting as I had hoped it would be, especially in light of what happened in Seductions Kiss.  Much of the story, to me, was more like laying groundwork for what was yet to come and was kind of hard to get into, seeming a  a little drawn out through the middle of the book.  That said, it was good, and ended on a note that leaves you anxious to see what will happen next.  I definitely will be reading the next installment and look forward to seeing where Alyssa Rose Ivy will taken Owen and Daisy on the next leg of their journey.

This week my book boyfriend is Dell Connelly from Animal Attraction by Jill Shalvis.  He's a hot, sexy, veterinarian who is half American-Indian and literally fulfills the description of tall, dark, and handsome perfectly, while having that rugged alpha male charm that women love.

She’s tempting his basic instincts…

Sunshine, Idaho, is a quiet ranching town, a perfect place to give injured animals a refuge…or to find one yourself. Veterinarian Dell Connelly suspects there’s a reason his clinic’s uber-efficient receptionist has taken shelter here.

Jade Bennett couldn’t be happier to escape the big-city jungle to work with hurt animals, and have a forlorn stray kitten make its home under her desk…or enjoy the gorgeous views of her ruggedly sexy boss.

Jade is used to planning everything in her life, but Dell’s seductive, alluring ways have sparked an uncontrollable desire. And though Dell has never had time for love, Jade’s strength and sass is the kind of call no red-blooded male can resist…
