This is my first year participating in Armchair BEA and I am very excited in being able to participate. Today's topic is "Introductions First." We were told to choose 5 interview questions from a list that was provided to answer, and then we get to blog hop around and get to know the other participants. I am looking forward to visiting as many blogs as I can and getting to know all the other great participants.
1. Please tell us a little bit about
yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you
get into blogging? Hi, my name is Ellen. I am a nurse and I live
in Georgia. I am married and have two boys. I used to read a
lot when I was younger, then got away from it. When Twilight came
out, I read all of those books, then The Hunger Games series, and
Divergent. After that, I just couldn't stop reading. I have
been blogging about 6 months. I love YA books, and started
reading other's blogs, and wanted to be able to share my
love for books with others, as well as promote great books and
great authors.
2. What is your favorite feature on your blog? I guess
I would have to say participating in blog tours. That is so much fun to
me.
3. Have your reading tastes changed since you started
blogging? How? I would say that my reading taste has
expanded quite a bit. I now read many more genres, as well as some adult novels.
When I read about a good book on someone's blog, I want to check
it out myself also.
4. If you could eat dinner with any author or character, who
would it be and why? That is a very difficult question.
There are so many great author's that I love. As far as characters,
I have a thing for the hot bad boy type. I would have to choose
Daemon from Obsidian and/or Beau Vincent from The Vincent Boys. I
don't think I would be able to eat though :).
5. What is your favorite part about the book blogging
community? Is there anything you would like to see change in the
coming years? I love visiting other's blogs, checking out their
posts, seeing what their reading. I love reading and being part of
discussions on twitter also. As far as seeing anything change, I am
still getting to know the in's and out's blogging, so I really don't know,
so I will have to get back to you on that one.

DeleteHarry Potter and Twilight are what got me back into reading. And I've been annoying the honey with my nose constantly in a book ever since. But my kids have also gotten interested in books, so I think it was well worth it.
ReplyDeleteMy husband gets aggravated with me sometimes to because I read to much :)
DeleteBeautiful blog!! I got into reading because of Twilight too! It was great to meet you!

DeleteHello Ellen! :) I love how the blogging community expands our horizons. Blogs help us discover so many amazing new books that we may not have found otherwise! :)
ReplyDeleteThere are so many new books, especially indie books, that I would never have heard of if it wasn't for bloggers.
DeleteHi There!
ReplyDeleteThe blogging community is full of so many wonderful people, isn't it? :)
It certainly is :)
DeleteYou have amazed me! It's crazy that you still find the time to read and blog when you are a nurse, a mother, a wife, etc. Simply amazing!

ReplyDeleteThat would be great. You'll love the Vincent Boys. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteI think it's great that reading tastes are apt to change within this community because of all the recommendations and new blogging friends who push us to try new things. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're right. There are so many new books I read now that I never would have before, because of blogging friends recommendations.
DeleteHi Ellen! Great to meet you =) I'm always YA at heart too <3 Great name! And I'm with you on the bad boy type - Definitely LOVE Beau from The Vincent Boys. Can't WAIT to read The Vincent Brothers.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to meet you to.
DeleteHooray for 6-month old YA blogs! Blog Tours really are a ton of fun, I've only just begun to participate in them but am really enjoying it so far. Also, I want to read Obsidian so badly but nowhere around me has the book! I know I should just order it already because I'm sure I'll love it (or would be able to give it away to someone who does), but agh -- it's killing me I don't know anything about this Daemon Obsession!
ReplyDeleteHappy Armchair BEA, and lovely to meet you!
My Armchair BEA Intro

It is nice to meet you to. Thank you for the follow. I am on my way to visit your blog to.
DeleteHello! :)
ReplyDeleteI am the same as you! I was a huge reader in primary school, but as soon as I hit high-school, my reading just went down the drain! I have only really picked it back up in the last 3 years or so, and I am so glad I did!
Thanks for sharing, was great to get to know you a bit better! :)
It is nice to meet you to. It seems like there are so many more great books available now than when I was younger - that is probably not really true, but I am glad to have rediscovered my love for reading.
DeleteWith the plethora of books available online these days I am willing to bet that you don't stop reading anytime soon. It is simply amazing that there are so many genres and choices, most of which are available at the press of a button. You're blog is looking good and I decided to follow it to see what else is up. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks. It is good to meet you.
DeleteNice to meet you Ellen, have fun with the Armchair BEA posts. I have two little ones of my own and I think most people don't realize how difficult it is to maintain a book blog.
