Blog Tour: Clutch by J. A. Huss

Welcome to my stop on the tour for Clutch by J. A. Huss, hosted by SupaGurl Book Tours.  Today's tour stop features a guest character post from Tier.  There is also a great giveaway going on associated with the tour, so be sure to enter that below.

How long can you lie to yourself before it all comes apart?

In 2152 the avian race is on Earth looking for something stolen from them decades ago – their genetics. At the center of the search lies the Rural Republic; a small backwards farming country with high hopes of military domination and a penchant for illegal bioengineering.

19 year old Junco Coot is the daughter of the Rural Republic’s ranking commander. She’s the most foul-mouthed, wildly unpredictable and ruthless sniper the Rural Republic has ever trained. But when her father’s death sparks a trip into forbidden places, she triggers events that will change everything she knows to be true.

As an elite avian military officer, Tier’s mission is to destroy the bioengineering projects, kill Commander Coot’s daughter, and return home immediately. There’s just one problem. Junco isn’t who she claims to be.

With no one to trust, not even herself, Junco must confront the secrets of her past and accept her place in the future, or risk losing herself completely.

CONTENT WARNING The I Am Just Junco series is NOT YOUNG ADULT. This series contains foul language and graphic violence

To ten Reasons why I Love Junco – Guest Character post by Tier

First of all, I’m just not sure how anyone, ANYONE – in their right mind could not love the crazy little disaster that is Junco Coot.  She’s got everything a guy wants in a girlfriend and today I’m gonna give you the top ten reasons why I love that psycho little butt-kicker.

Number Ten – She plays poker like a dude AND she smokes cigars. Who ever heard of a girl that could not only wipe the table with her mad shark skills, but also puff on a stogie and not complain about the smell?

Number Nine – She’s brave.  I know she doesn’t feel brave sometimes, but take my word  on it…she stares down death in every book and if she’s sweatin’ it inside, you’d never know it.

Number Eight – She can do acrobatic martial arts moves on the back of a galloping horse…it’s crazy, I know!  But that cute little butt gets all twisty and flippy and sure enough, she sticks the landing every single time.

Number Seven – She’s had my back in battle several times now.  Several big-time times.  I owe her.

Number Six – Junco is not a quitter, in fact – that girl has no idea what the word quit means.  It doesn’t matter if she’s been mauled by a wild animal or cracked her head open in an accident, she gets back up and tries again.

Number Five – She has the most awesome weapon ever! I have no idea why Lucan never gave me one of those SEAR knives, but I’m gonna ask him the next time I see him.

Number Four – She’s a really good kisser.  Really good kisser.  Really.  Good.  Kisser.

Number Three – She’s beautiful.  Yeah sure – she’s got a few battle scars mucking up her face…but who doesn’t? I love her hair, her eyes, and yes – even her scars.  She looks like a goddess to me.

Number Two - Because all my brothers know she loves me best and they’re practically sick with envy.  ;)

And the Number One reason why I love Junco Coot is…

Because I could not imagine my life without her.  She is my everything.

If you haven’t picked up Clutch yet, you’re missing out!  Not only is this a great action story, a mystery, and a thriller sprinkled with horror, deceit and lies…but it’s also the budding of a true love story between Junco, the little psychotic teen-age assassin – and me, her hopeful hero.

You’re still here?  Go get the book!  Now!

J. A. Huss never took a creative writing class in her life. Some would say it shows. Others might cut her some slack. She did however, get educated and graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Equine Science. She had grand dreams of getting a Ph.D. but while she loves science, she hated academia and settled for a M.S. in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Florida.

She’s always packing heat and she is owned by two donkeys, five dogs, more chickens and ducks than she can count, and of course, the real filthy animals, her kids. The I Am Just Junco series was born after falling in love with the ugliest part of Colorado and the Rural Republic is based on the area of the state she currently resides in, minus the mutants, of course.
