While trying to save her brother from a witch’s fire four years ago, Greta was thrown in herself, falling through a portal to Mylena, a dangerous world where humans are the enemy and every ogre, ghoul, and goblin has a dark side that comes out with the eclipse.

To survive, Greta has hidden her humanity and taken the job of bounty hunter—and she’s good at what she does. So good, she’s caught the attention of Mylena’s young goblin king, the darkly enticing Isaac, who invades her dreams and undermines her will to escape.

But Greta’s not the only one looking to get out of Mylena. An ancient evil knows she’s the key to opening the portal, and with the next eclipse mere days away, every bloodthirsty creature in the realm is after her—including Isaac. If Greta fails, she and the lost boys of Mylena will die. If she succeeds, no world will be safe from what follows her back..

My Thoughts:  Greta has been living in Mylena for four years now, ever since she fell through a portal from her dimension while trying to save her little brother.  The world as she knew it is only a distant memory now.  The world she lives in is one she though only existed in fairy tales and horror stories.......only it is very, very real.  With the help of her mentor, she has has trained and has become a very successful bounty hunter.  She hunts and battles the lost, ghouls, goblins, ogres, fairies, and sprites who have given themselves over to their darker side, and Greta is very good at what she does.  Her success has caught the eye of Isaac, who has now become the goblin king.  In fact, she has caught more than just the young goblin king's eye, she has managed to capture his heart.  Isaac visits her in her dreams, and as hard as she tries, she cannot deny the feelings she has for him.  Somehow he always manages to show up when she needs him, even if her pride won't allow her to admit that she needs him.

Humans are hated in the land of Mylena and Greta has done everything she can to conceal the fact that she is human.  When Greta's mentor is brutally attacked and her humanity  is exposed, she has one goal in mind, to find and bring to justice the one who did this.  While on her quest to do just that, everything she has ever learned is put to the test, including her trust in Isaac.  She fights every evil imaginable, and in the process finds friends that stir up emotions in her that she has long ago pushed deep inside.  All the while, Isaac is determined to find her and protect her, while everyone and everything else wants her captured, even dead.

This book was fantastic.  I loved Greta's character.  She is one kick-butt heroine.  I really loved Isaac's character also.  I didn't know goblins could be hot, but Isaac is one hot goblin.  He is strong, determined, and headstrong, and Greta is just the same, so they end up butting heads quite a bit.  Greta doesn't think she can trust him, and he wants to prove to her that she can.  Greta, however, is very stubborn and is determined to do things on her own.  The chemistry between these two is undeniable, and try as she may, Isaac is someone Greta can never forget.  I enjoyed the other characters in the book also, especially Wyatt, and the lost boys, who you will meet when you read the book.  This novel captured my attention from the very beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat until the end.  Greta and the Goblin King is action-packed and there is never a dull moment.  There are intense battle scenes, mythological creatures, and of course romance.  If you enjoy fantasy, fairy tales, paranormal romance, and intense action, then Greta and the Goblin King is one book you won't want to miss.  Chloe Jacobs has done an excellent job in pulling all these elements together in this novel and I can't wait for the next installment in the series.

Author Spotlight:
Chloe Jacobs

Chloe Jacobs is a native of nowhere and everywhere, having jumped around to practically every Province of Canada before finally settling in Ontario where she has now been living for a respectable number of years. Her husband and son are the two best people in the entire world, but they also make her wish she'd at least gotten a female cat. No such luck. And although the day job keeps her busy, she carves out as much time as possible to write. Bringing new characters to life and finding out what makes them tick and how badly she can make them suffer is one of her greatest pleasures, almost better than chocolate and fuzzy pink bunny slippers.
