Book Description:

Gossip girl meets Hollywood in this new series by Jillian Dodd

Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.

She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.

Because really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.

Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.

It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.

And deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.

To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker.

A hot, mysterious man keeps flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide.

So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.

But little does she know, there's someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.

My Thoughts:  This book was so not what I expected and I was completely delighted with it.  It is definitely mature YA, starting out hot and staying there the whole time, and I loved it.  Keatyn is anything but your typical teenager.  She lives in Malibu California with her mom, who is a famous actress, her step dad, who is equally famous, and her little sisters.  She also leads an anything but the normal teenage life, with rich and famous friends and boyfriends, going to parties, surfing, shopping, you name it.  You would think she sounds stuck up and superficial, but she's really likable.  Her life is like a movie, only the script she has written out in her head for the way she dreams things would be isn't the one that always plays out in real life.  Her friends at school have the whole "Mean Girls" thing going on and sometimes Keatyn wonders how she got mixed up in it all.  She thought she wanted the whole popular scene with everything that goes with it, but does she?  Strangely enough, her closest friends are guys, and she even has the whole Dawson's Creek thing going on with them, actually "sleeping" in each others beds.  After a breakup with her long-term boyfriend, things start to turn around with her surfer friend Brooklyn who she's been crushing on forever.  Then things also take a turn with her best friend, Cush, the hottest of the hotties in my opinion, that she didn't see coming. Granted, both of these guys are HOT, but I must say I am team Cush all the way.  The boy has got it going on.  Then and older and kind of creepy but hot dude comes on the scene with a most interesting proposition.
Keatyn finds herself torn between Cush and Brookyln, and after a summer of fun, she finds herself pondering on who loves all of her and who loves just certain parts of her.  When something happens that threatens everything, she must choose between keeping her family and the boy she loves safe, and her continuing her life as she know it.  This brings on a whole new set of problems and a whole new set of hot guys, which she tackles head on, cowgirl boots and all.  In addition to B and Cush, now add more hotties, Riley, Dallas, and Aiden, who Keaton has deemed the "God of All Hotties," to the mix, and things get even more interesting.

Let me say again, I really loved this book.  Typically, I wouldn't like a girl who "was into" so many different guys, but Jillian Dodd has written Keatyn's hormonally supercharged character in such a way that it works, and I still loved her.  Is her life realistic - no,  but it is something that you would see in a television show or movie, which is exactly what it's meant to be, and it made the book that much more entertaining.  I found the story fun, sexy, filled with hot guys, humor, and even some intense situations.  I am still rooting for Cush at this point, and hope to see more of him in the series.  Needless to say, I am dying for Kiss Me, and will be buying it as soon as it comes out.  In the book description, it says Gossip Girl meets Hollywood, and it can't be described any more perfectly than that.  If you love that type of story, then you'll love Stalk Me, I know I did.

  8. One thing to keep in mind when reading Stalk Me is it is the first of a six book series. You needed to understand where Keatyn came from to understand how she grows by the sixth book. All books will take place in about a year of her life.

  9. This sounds so good! I don't think I've read a book like it before. I like that she's not the mean girl even if she's sort of in that crowd. And it's sounds like lots of boys, but that's okay! Sounds like an MC I would love to read about!
