The Wild Ones

Published August 1, 2012 by M. Leighton Books
**MATURE CONTENT ADVISORY: May not be suitable for younger readers**
Passion as hot as midnight in the South and love as wild as the horses they tame.
Camille “Cami” Hines is the darling daughter of the South’s champion thoroughbred breeder, Jack Hines. She has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was pretty happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future.
But that was before she met Patrick Henley.
“Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her. He’s considered the “help,” which is forbidden fruit as far as her father is concerned, not to mention that Trick would be fired if he ever laid a hand on her. And Trick needs his job. Desperately. His family depends on him.
The heart wants what the heart wants, though, and Trick and Cami are drawn to each other despite the obstacles. At least the ones they know of.
When Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, secrets that could tear them apart
My Thoughts: I am a huge M. Lieghton fan, so I was really excited about reading The Wild Ones. True to form, M. Leighton did not disappoint in this fabulous contemporary romance. While home from college for the summer, Cami Hines happens to meet Patrick "Trick" Henley while at a bar called Lucky's one night. Everything in her well-planned out world changes from the moment she looks into his beautiful eyes. Her future, her boyfriend, the plans she has so carefully laid out for her future all begin to blur when love captures her heart. Trick is one hot cowboy. I mean he has charm, good looks, great personality, and he walks around with his shirt off half the time. Trick is also very attracted to Cami. more so than anyone he has ever known in the past. There is just one problem....Trick works for Cami's dad, and her dad has made it more than clear to the "help" that his daughter is hands off, and Trick desperately needs this job. As if they don't have enough obstacles in their path, a dark and hidden secret is revealed that threatens to destroy any chance they may have at being together, but love has a way of overcoming all obstacles, that is if your willing to take a chance and look for it. The question is, are Trick and Cami willing to take that chance?
I really loved this book. I mean, I was sold when I found out it was about a hot cowboy, everything else was just sugar on top. Cami was really sweet. She had kind of led a sheltered life in a way, always doing what was expected of her, so it took her a while to finally realize what and who she wants. Trick, oh my, I absolutely loved Trick, everything about him. I really liked Rusty and Jenna, "the best friends," also. The story itself was really entertaining and kept me turning pages, and the romance and chemistry between Cami and Trick was off the charts hot. I found myself once again longing for a cowboy of my own. The Wild Ones is a a fantastic contemporary romance with a guy whose hotness factor is off the scales and chemistry that is through the roof......and let me reiterate the fact that he's a cowboy. I mean what more could you ask for. Contemporary romance fans, especially New Adult fans, this is one book you will want to check out.
So here is what I think Trick might look like. What do you think? He's one hot cowboy!
“He drops his head, his cheek pressed to mine, and he whispers in my ear. "If we go, we can't come back. Not ever. Things will never be the same." I lean into him, needing to feel every inch of him, wishing he could absorb me and put me out of my misery. "I'm not perfect Cami. I'm not a thoroughbred like he is. I never will be." I'm under his spell, but I hear what he's saying. And I don't care. I don't care about anything but having Trick, having him in my life, having as much as he can give me.
"I hear sometimes the wild ones are the best."
He says nothing at first, but I can almost hear his smile as he no doubt recognizes his own words.”About the Author: M.
