Awkward teenage girl, Alex Bianchi, finds love when she takes an internship at Circe Operations Center.

My Thoughts:  Alex Bianchi is a 17-year-old girl who is somewhat of a nerd in school.  She lives with her mother, stepfather, and little brother, as her parents have been divorced since she was a child.  Her father is in the military, so she hasn't seen him much.  Alex ends up asking her dad about an internship to Circe, where he works, because she needs something to put on her college application to Columbia University.  When she arrives in Arizona to begin her internship, she really knows nothing about the place.  When she enters the facility with her father she inadvertently makes a "thumbs up" gesture to her dad, which unbeknownst to her is a huge no-no in the alien world.  This results in an attack on her life by an alien, and then another alien, Ace, saves her.  This is how Alex finds out that alien's exist.  Ace is a Calatian and one of the most beautiful beings she has ever seen.  Needless to say, her ignorance of alien culture was not looked upon favorably by her fellow interns, or the other aliens, which came in all different shapes and sizes, some resembling humans and some anything but human-like.  As it turns out the Calatians are somewhat of a superior race in the universe, and what Ace did by saving her was frowned upon by the entire alien race.

Alex ends up being assigned to work with Ace, and they find themselves falling for each other.  This is also taboo, because it is forbidden for aliens and humans to interact in this way.  This sets of a string of events that   not only threaten Alex and Ace, but the entire world, as they find themselves the center in the center of an intergalactic war.  Alex and Ace are determined to be together, but is their love strong enough to overcome the most powerful being in the universe, the Queen of Calatia, especially when the Queen happens to also be Ace's mom?

HOW TO DATE AN ALIEN was a cute story.  It sort of had a little of a "Men in Black" feel to it, mixed with a little bit of "Roswell."  Though it has it's very serious moments, there is quite a bit of lighthearted humor mixed in.  The story moves along an a good pace and was entertaining.  Ace is your totally hot alien type who looks like a male model.  Alex has an Italian background, is dark haired and has an olive-skinned dark complexion.  She also wears glasses, and cannot see anything without them.  She is portrayed as not quite overweight, but not thin by any means, though I think she sees herself in a more negative manner than everyone else does.  Alex and Ace face many obstacles in their relationship, as well as biases, and plenty of danger because there are many in the human world and alien world who do not want to see these two together. I found this YA science fiction/romance  cute and entertaining, and though it has its serious moments, still remains lighthearted and fun.

Face it, long distance relationships in high school are hard,
especially when the other one in the relationship is an alien.
Alex Bianchi may have survived an intergalactic battle, but that still doesn’t excuse her from her senior year of high school, or qualify her for any sort of scholarship. To make up for college tuition costs, she takes a job at a local coffee shop. If only coffee could solve all of her problems.

As Alex’s senior year progresses, everything changes and she can’t figure out if it is interstellar or if it is just time to break up with an alien.

My Thoughts:  This second book in the "My Alien Romance" series picks up where then first book left off.  Alex is now back home beginning her senior year in high school.  Ace is still practically on the other side of the country at Circe.  Alex and Ace not only face the challenges of a long-distance relationship, but Alex must also come to terms with the fact that she is the future princess of Calatia.  Despite Ace's ability to "beam in" to see Alex, the distance proves to be challenging.  When weird things start to happen at school with her friends and classmates, and she meets a new friend at work, it puts an even greater strain on their relationship.  Alex begins having dreams and questioning everything, and when her friend Brody starts wanting to become more than a friend, she begins to suspect foul play in the form of "sleep creeping," but can she convince Ace of this before it's too late and someone from Ace's past destroys everything.

This was a cute second installment in this series.  It focuses more on the challenges of high school, long distance romances, and doesn't have quite as much of the alien interaction as the first novel did.  There are several new characters introduced, namely Simone, Alex's new friend, who isn't all she seems to be.  Overall this was a cute second book in this series.

Alex’s interstellar relationship has finally been sealed in the eyes of the human world, so now she can move on to her next step: college.

With Ace by her side and a new piece of jewelry on her finger, she thinks she is ready for anything. Well, almost anything.
Her new roommate holds a dangerous link to her past that Alex isn't sure if she can handle. Then there is the whole alien fiancé thing. Every time she tries to get closer to Ace, he seems to pull further away. Top that off with a full summer class load and a few more alien attacks and it’s just another day for Alex.

Except this time she isn’t sure if marrying an alien will be the happy ending she’s hoping for.

**While the first two alien books were mildly tame, this book is a little different. I'm not saying it's Fifty Shades or anything, but Alex is eighteen, she's going off to college and she's been with her alien boyfriend for a year; there is guaranteed to be some heat. I'm recommending this for upper YA/New Adult readers.**

My Thoughts:  In this third and final installment in the series.  Alex is graduating from high school and moving to Arizona to attend college.  As she an Ace are driving something darts across the road and they have a terrible accident, and Ace is hurt pretty badly.  A team from Circe rescues them and Alex is taken to her dorm, while Ace is taking to Circe, and they won't let her see him right away.  She meets Lucy, her new roomate, who is also gay, and her girlfriend just happens to be someone from Alex's past, which provides an even greater challenge for Alex.  She also meets Monte, Ace's friend, who things he is Calatia's gift to women, and is quite the character.  Alex and Ace's romance heats up physically in this book also.  Alex also has to deal with everyone she comes across of the "alien race" treating her as somewhat of a celebrity, because she is engaged to the prince of Calatia.  Just when they think they are out of danger, they find out that the car accident wasn't an accident at all, and someone, namely an alien, is still out to prevent this "royal wedding" from taking place.

I enjoyed this third and final installment in this series.  It started off with a bang, when the accident happened, though I thought it was kind of strange that Alex could continue on with her classes right after the accident without going to Ace's side to make sure he was okay.  After this, the story kind of centered more on Alex and her friendship with Lucy and Riley.  There really weren't that many exciting things happening.  I was glad to see Alex and Ace's romance heat up, though Ace was a little resistant to "going all the way" with Alex, which made things a bit awkward for her.  When Alex finds out what it really means to marry a Calatian, she understands his hesitation though.  The ending came rather suddenly with someone from their past threatening them again, but there was an epilogue, which kind of tied things together.  If you are looking for a cute alien story, then you might want to check this series out.
