Blurb: The normal part of Lorelei MacAlister’s life didn’t just slip away quietly the day Jared Kovach came to town. Nope. The normal part of her life shattered. It exploded. It burst into a gazillion shards of fleeting light.
It went out with a bang.
Goodbye normal.
Hello dark and eerie.
While her best friend, Brooklyn, is focusing all of her energy on helping Lorelei hone her abilities, Lorelei is dealing with the reality that Satan’s second in command has taken up residence inside her body. Oh, and the fact that she has a crush on the Angel of Death. But what a beautiful death it is. If those weren’t bad enough, something sinister has come to town and it wants nothing more than to hear Lorelei’s dying breath as it strangles it out of her. Thank goodness the gang has a supernatural champion. But what happens when the only being who can save them switches sides midstream? How can a group of misfits capture one of the most powerful beings ever created? And will they find out how to bring Jared back to them before it’s too late?

The gang  from Death, Doom, and Detention is on Spring Break!  Read the short below and try to figure out where they are at.  There are clues throughout the post that will reveal the destination.   Let us know where you think the teens are hanging out!

I lay on the beach, the sun warming my skin as I looked out over the Caribbean Sea. The cerulean blue water, sparkling like diamonds, lulled me into a state of utter relaxation. I felt as though I were floating. The worries of home seemed a lifetime away and the weight of responsibility vanished. We were just kids, normal teens, vacationing in a far-away land. Cameron and Brooklyn were playing paddle ball while Glitch collected shells along the waterline. All of our cares just seemed to melt into oblivion.

I looked back at the Riu Palace Resort. There were more words in the actual name than that, but I could never remember them. And I didn’t care. Jared lay a few feet from me in a softly swaying hammock under a hut. I could see the sleek definition of his muscles, the rise and fall of his chest as the light breeze rocked him to sleep, the virgin pina colada with the little umbrella forgotten on the table next to him. The picture of his burnished form was even prettier than the deep blue sea that stretched for miles before me.

We’d decided on San Miguelito Beach, which turned out to be the perfect choice. It had a small Mayan ruin to explore, mixing history with activities, and it was the only way we could get all of our parents, and grandparents in my case, to agree to let us come. We promised them it was more of a research trip than a typical spring break. But we weren’t about to let that one promise keep us from going to the Coco Bongo dance club after we dined at Captain Hook Barco Pirata Pirate Ship. We were in paradise, after all.

I realized Jared’s hammock had stopped swinging and his gaze had landed on me. It touched me with more warmth than the sun, his dark eyes shimmering beneath his long lashes.
“What are you thinking?” he asked.
I let an evil grin overtake my features, rolled onto my stomach, and propped my chin in my palms. “I’m thinking I’m going to steal that pina colada before it melts completely.” I nodded to indicate the perspiring glass by his hand.
He eyed me a long, lingering moment before smiling and closing his eyes. “If that’s a challenge,” he said, his white teeth flashing against his dark skin, “I accept.”
Oh, yes, this afternoon was going to be fun.
