Cal Crawford has never had time for love, but now he’s falling for Phoebe. Which means it’s got to be just plain wrong to set her up with his best friend, right? But even though seeing Phoebe with someone else will break his heart, he can’t walk away from her.
Phoebe can’t afford to choose the wrong guy with the fate of the world at stake. But maybe Cupid has it wrong. Maybe she has to rely just a little bit on Cupid, and a whole lot more on her heart.
My Thoughts: Phoebe Ward has almost given up on finding love, now finding herself at her ex-fiance's wedding as the photographer. Of course she couldn't say no, because she is really good at what she does and she is happy for him, yet that pang of jealousy is still there. It's not because she wants him, but because she wants someone. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like that is in the cards for her. She shrugs it off, and then finds herself meeting Cosmo, who just happens to be Cupid's son. When Phoebe finally is convinced that he is who he says he is, she is given the ultimatum of finding love by Valentines Day in order the save the world, or risk love being removed from it forever. Cosmo has a plan, informing Phoebe about who her soul mate is and trying to help her by arranging for the two to "meet." Phoebe is on board with whole thing, until she meets Cal, her supposed soul-mate's roommate. Cal is quite the hottie and is throwing a wrench in her plans, causing her to have feelings and doubts that she doesn't think she has time for, or does she?
This is a cute short novella that is sweet and entertaining. It's the perfect Valentine's Day story, which can be enjoyed at any time of the year. This sweet little romance is a lot of fun and the perfect read for when you don't have a lot of time, yet want to enjoy a heartwarming little romantic fix.
She writes sweet (and sometimes even funny) romances for Samhain Publishing, Avalon Books/Montlake Romance and now Entangled Publishing. She won third place in the RWA 2006 NYC's Kathryn Hayes Love and Laughter Contest with her first book, The Role of a Lifetime.
Lately she's been on a serious exercise kick. But don't hold that against her.
