The Collector (Dante Walker #1)
From Entangled Teen
Release Date: April 2nd, 2013
Paperback/e-book
400 pages

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence has made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple, weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big, red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal opportunity collector and doesn’t want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:  Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within 10 days.

Dante doesn’t know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky, Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect—he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector, and uncover emotions deeply buried.

My Thoughts:  I have been so excited about meeting Dante Walker and was doing a "happy dance" when I finally got my hands on The Collector.  I mean, look at the cover, read the synopsis, he's the perfect bad boy that every girl loves.  Needless to say, Dante did not disappoint.  In fact, he went above and beyond any expectations I could have had.  I am completely in love with him now, and despite all his badass demeanor, and he is a badass, he also has a heart of gold buried down deep inside that gorgeous chest.  He just doesn't realize it, that is until he gets to know Charlie Cooper.  You can't help but love Charlie.  She just radiates a beauty that comes from inside and it was awesome getting to know her.  When Dante first meets her, he can't see past her "not so beautiful" exterior, but when he gets to know her, he can't help but see what an beautiful person she really is, and damned if doesn't change the whole game for him.  Charlie's friends Annabelle and Blue were really fun to, especially Annabelle.  I hope we get to see more of her in the next installment.

The plot was interesting and entertaining, and though the angel and demon thing is not a new concept, Dante certainly spices it up and Victoria Scott 's take on it is not only fresh, she has also done an excellent job in writing both the story and Dante's character, as well as the other characters.  I enjoyed The Collector from beginning to end.  I especially liked where the relationship between Dante and Charlie went.  I can't wait to see what happens in the Liberator.  August just can't get here soon enough.  Overall, The Collector is a fantastic read and Dante is just "awesomesauce."  If you haven't met him yet, hurry and get your copy.  You know you want to.

Favorite Quotes:

"Big surprise.  You didn't dress up."  "I came as Awesome Sauce," I say.  "You probably wouldn't recognize it."

I lean in and whisper in her ear, "You don't know who you are f***ing with, princess.  Ain't no one do bad like I do."

Grams opens the door after I've knocked only once.  I guess she was expecting me.  Her eyes drink me in, and a smile finds her mouth.  "If I didn't know better," she says, "I'd think the devil just showed up on my doorstep."

Even though I'm half asleep, I wonder if she's checking me out in my boxer briefs.  Then again, who wouldn't check this out?

Annabelle laughs.  "Oh, so you think your're hot, do you?"  "Girl, I got swag for days."

The sensation strikes something inside of me.  Something I haven't felt in a very long time.  Like a warm fuzzy or some shit.

"You should be terrified,"  I say.  "Because I'm going to show you dance moves that'll have you begging for my shit."

Don't let her kiss anyone, and I'll start being a better person.  I'll eat vegetables. Save baby seals...The bottle lands on a guy I can't identify......Please.  Don't do it.  Decide I'm too important.  Decide you care too much.  That you never realized it until now.

The Liberator
by Victoria Scott
Coming August 2013 from Entangled Teen

Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.
