Never challenge a cowboy in the courtroom…
Surveying the proposed site for a high-end golf course should have been a breeze for spunky Landscape Architect Sophie Smith. But when this born-and-bred city girl is suddenly—and quite literally—swept off her feet by a sexy cowboy on horseback, she realizes that the country life has some serious (and seriously steamy!) possibilities. That is, until she finds out exactly who her smokin’-hot wrangler really is.
Cowboy and Tribal lawyer Jake Lodge is desperately trying to block the development. And if that means playing hardball—and being every inch the shark lawyer—so be it. But Sophie is a distraction he didn’t expect. A distraction that makes his blood burn.
Two different worlds. Two opposing sides. And when they finally give into the exquisite temptation, the consequences will shake the foundations of both of their lives…
My Thoughts:  When I saw the cover and the title of this book, Against the Wall, I knew I wanted to read it, and it more than met all my expectations and then some.  I have say that I have yet to read a book from Entangled Publishing that I didn't like, and Rebecca Zanetti delivers one hot read in this novel.  I have a thing for cowboys.  There's just something about them......girls many of you know what I mean.  In Against the Wall we meet Sophie Smith, who is a landscape architect.  She has designed a golf course and has come to "the middle of nowhere," in Montana, which is really one of the most beautiful places she has ever seen, to present it to the people.  Her job, to convince the "powers that be" to approve the construction of the golf course by the company that the firm she works for represents.  Sophie's hopes are to convince the Kooskia Tribe, who own the lake that is next to where the golf course will be, to support her.  What Sophie doesn't expect is to be swept off her feet by Jake Lodge, which he does literally, when they first meet.  Sophie is taken aback by this cowboy, who is one of the most stunning men she has ever come across.  She is even more taken aback the next day when she is meeting with the elder of the Kooski Tribe and in walks said cowboy, who just happens to be the Kooski Tribe's lawyer, a member of the Kooski tribe himself, and the grandson of the chief.  Not to mention that he is sexy as sin and he knows it.  Jake Lodge's commanding presence is one that will cause you to melt in a puddle of desire.  He knows what he wants, and he has decided that he wants Sophie Smith.

"I've read over your proposal, and while I think the golf course is magnificent, it doesn't belong on the site you've chosen."  Much better to get the business out of the way before he asked her out.  Sophie smiled then, and he felt his first sense of unease.  Maybe this wouldn't be as easy as he thought.  Sophie wondered if she'd be arrested if she cold-cocked Jake Lodge across his arrogant face.  "Mr. Lodge-" "Jake," he reminded her, Again.  Sophie growled low in her throat.  "Jake, you are not being reasonable. "  "Yes, I am."  Strong arms crossed over a hard chest as he sat back in the dark leather chair.  "Are not," Sophie spouted before she could stop herself.  A raised eyebrow and a glint of amusement met her frustration head-on.  She took a deep breath.  "You. Do. Not. Own. The. Land."  "I. Know. That."  The amusement turned into a full-out grin.  "I hate cliches."  "Excuse me?"  "Cliches.  They're boring."  He placed two broad hands on the oak table between them and leaned forward into her space.  "But you are absolutely stunning when angry."

Sophie is a bit flabbergasted after their encounter, to say the least, especially when Jake walks her to her jeep, and puts her in it himself.

He walked her to the Jeep and opened the driver's door, his hands sliding around her waist.  The gentle touch slid right under her skin, zinged around, and throbbed between her legs.  She coughed.  "I can get into the Jeep."  He grinned and lifted her inside.  "I know, but my mama taught me to be a gentleman."  Sophie swallowed.  "That wasn't gentlemanly." His chuckle caressed her skin as if his tongue traced each inch.  "I didn't say I was good at the lessons."

Yes girls, I totally want a Jake Lodge for myself, and that is only the beginning of the book.  Things get hotter and hotter, and the story gets a whole lot better.......Jake even has three brothers "sigh, swoon."  I really enjoyed Against the Wall.  It is a hot sexy romance and also a really entertaining story.  Sophie is nothing like Jake expects, and Jake and his family are nothing like Sophie expects either.  Both of them have deep hurts from their past.  Jake's family is something Sophie has always longed for, and most of the town has welcomed her with open arms.  I enjoyed watching the relationship grow between Sophie and Jake.  As you can already see, the chemistry is sizzling, but the love builds up over time.  Jake is literally to die for, 6 feet 4 inches of hot tribal cowboy who dominates in and out of bed..."I am fanning my face at this point."  I came to love Sophie's character also, and Jake's brothers, let's just say I hope each of them get a book.  The setting of the story is just beautiful, and I really enjoyed getting to know the secondary characters as well as Jake and Sophie.  They have their challenges to overcome, some really unexpected things happen, and there are even some threatening and dangerous situations that take place to.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book.  If you are a contemporary romance fan, then I would totally recommend checking this out.  Rebecca Zanetti has done an excellent job writing this "brazen" novel, and I can't wait to read the next book in the Maverick Montana series.
