Found (The Crescent Chronicles #3)
by Alyssa Rose Ivy
Published: July 12, 2013
Synopsis: Levi might be hot, strong, and have a cool set of wings, but it's not enough to make up for keeping Allie in the dark.
Allie's tired of being left with more questions than answers. She's tired of loving a guy who refuses to level with her. Most of all, she's tired of her life spinning out of control.
Hi Alyssa, it is great having you here today.
Where did you get your idea for The Crescent Chronicles series and how many books are planned in the series?
Hi Ellen! The idea for the Crescent Chronicles came from my desire to write a paranormal romance series set in New Orleans. After spending four years in New Orleans for college, I just knew it would be the perfect backdrop. From the beginning, I knew the books would center on Allie and an alpha male with a unique spin. The idea for the Pterons came next, and everything else fell into place from there.
What were the challenges, i.e., research, literary, psychological, logistical, in bringing the series to life?
One of the biggest challenges in writing the Crescent Chronicles was creating the Pterons and The Society. I love world building, but starting from scratch on a concept like that takes a lot of work. Another challenge was how to describe Allie and Levi’s relationship in a realistic way. I knew many of the actions the characters take might surprise some readers, but I also understood they were essential to the storyline.
Can you tell us a little bit about Levi (swoon) and Allie?
Levi is an alpha male in the truest sense, but he’s also a lot more than that. He likes to have his way, and it takes someone as strong as Allie to make him understand the importance of letting go of control a little. Allie is strong and fiercely loyal to her friends. She doesn’t want to make the wrong decision, but sometimes the biggest decisions aren’t in her hands.
What is your favorite scene or quote from Found?
My favorite scene in Found takes place in the cave. I don’t want to give too much away, but it gave me a chance to show a much sweeter side to Levi, and to give readers a look into what was really going on in his head.
You have written quite a few books, which I love by the way. Which is your favorite genre to write, and which to you find most challenging?
I don’t necessarily have a favorite genre to write, but I have discovered that I love writing books that give me the opportunity to infuse some humor. I experimented with this in the Crescent Chronicles, and continued with it in The Hazards of Skinny Dipping. The hardest genre for me to write is fantasy, yet it was the first one I wrote in.
Which character in your books has been your favorite to write, and what character has been your most challenging?
Although he didn’t start out that way, Levi has become one of my favorites. He is such a complex character, and he’s definitely someone I wish I could meet. The most challenging character I’ve written is Calvin from my Afterglow Trilogy. It was hard to write a love interest with such a different background from the MC and from my own experience (he’s literally from another world).
Can you tell us three things about yourself that people would be surprised to know?
1) I can be shy at times
2) I have two middle names
3) I have both a law degree and a library science degree
Who is your favorite book couple?
Elizabeth and Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. I never get tired of reading their story.
What’s next for you writing wise that you can share with us?
I have plans for two new series. One is the Empire Chronicles, a follow up series to The Crescent Chronicles set in New York. Jared has a big role in this one. I’m also working on a new contemporary series in a similar vein to The Hazards of Skinny Dipping. I’ll have more information about that series soon.
This or That:
E-books or print copies? E-books
Facebook or Twitter? Twitter is starting to really grow on me
Theater or DVD? DVD (Although I’m missing date nights at the movies).
Talk or Text? Talk
Thanks so much for stopping by Alyssa. It was great talking with you.
Thanks for having me!
My Review: Alyssa Rose Ivy is one of my favorite authors, and The Crescent Chronicles is one of my favorite paranormal series. I have anxiously been awaiting Found, book #3 in the series, and I have to tell you I don't think it could have been more perfect. I fell in love with Levi and his hot, swoon-worthy, and sexy self in book one of this series, and I just love his and Allie's story. Levi is part of a supernatural group called The Society, and in fact, is destined to be the king, following in line behind his father. Levi is a Pteron, which is a winged being, not an angel, but nonetheless very powerful. The story is set in New Orleans, where The Society is headquartered, with branches all over the country. Found picks up where Focus leaves off. Since they have met, Levi's enemies in the supernatural community, which consists of many different types of beings, have tried to stop Levi from becoming king and destroy his connection with Allie, who is his mate. Allie has also found out that her first boyfriend from back home, Toby, is a Pteron, and he is determined to have her back at any cost, to be his mate, thus destroying Levi's chance of becoming king and making himself king instead. Allie's best friend Jess, has been kidnapped by Toby's family, the Blackwells, and Allie is determined to get her back, but what will be the cost, and what is she willing to give up in order to see this happen?
