Book Description:  Alayna Withers has only had one kind of relationship: the obsessive, crazy stalker kind. Now that Hudson Pierce has let her into his heart, she’s determined to stay away from her past tendencies and develop their love into more than just amazing sex. At least Hudson is as dedicated to her as she is to him, though she could do without his new found jealousy and need to control everything. To complicate matters, Hudson has his own baggage including a penchant for mind games and a hateful alcoholic mother who’s set on destroying any happiness he might find with Alayna.

Needing insight, Alayna turns to an unlikely source—Celia Werner. Celia’s been in love with Hudson herself and knows how to ride the rocky waves of the emotionally closed-off man. But when Celia’s true motivations behind their friendship are revealed, Hudson’s commitment might not be as solid as Alayna thinks, and even their all-consuming passion for each other isn’t enough to fix their mistrusts. This is the first relationship where Alayna hasn’t spiraled out of control. And she might lose Hudson anyway…

Found in You by Laurelin Paige Book Trailer from SchmexyGirl Book Blog on Vimeo.

My Thoughts:  After reading Fixed on You, I have been dying to see where Laurelin Paige would take Alyana and Hudson's story next.  I loved getting to know these two very complicated and broken individuals in Fixed on You, and watching their lives transform as they began to allow themselves to heal and find love in the process - and believe me, that process was very, very steamy.  Needless to say this is a very adult book and is not appropriate for younger readers.  For those of us who are adults, get ready for a hot ride, because that is exactly what Laurelin Paige delivers in Found in You.  While I did enjoy the hot steamy parts of this novel, I really enjoyed even more Alyana and Hudson's story.  There are so many books out there that deliver the steam, focusing more on the "hot" than the actual plot, but this author not only provides the steam, she has created a story line that keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what will happen next with these characters.

Hudson Pierce is a bit of an enigma - he's a billionaire, domineering, mysterious, sexy, his presence commands the room wherever he happens to be, he knows what he wants and for the most part he gets it or takes it.  What most people don't see or know is the broken individual that lies underneath that sexy surface. The exception to that rule is Alayna Withers, who is equally damaged and broken in her own right.  She sees into the deep parts of Hudson, just as he sees into the deep parts of her, past the brokenness, past the damage, past the facade, yet loves the beautiful mess that is in the center of it all.  Hudson has never allowed anyone inside before Alayna.  He has never loved anyone, something that is new to him, but also something he is committed to.  They are far from perfect and make a ton of mistakes along the way, some of which seriously threaten any hope of a future together, but they also are miserable without each other.  Then there is Hudson's manipulative and extremely dysfunctional family, and his former girlfriend of sorts, Celia, who compounds the trouble like gas on a fire, something which Alayna finds out the hard way.   I didn't like her at all.  Then there is Hudon's monster, I mean mom, well you get the idea

Mistakes are made, Hudson and Alayna hurt each other, are hurt by others, yet love deeply and passionately, and bring healing to one another on a level that no one else has ever managed to touch.  Found in You has the hot steamy romance that contemporary romance fans will love, and also provides a really great story that has conspiracy, intrigue, and plenty of drama.  I loved where these two characters ended up in this story - yeah no cliffhanger!!!! At the same time, I am anxiously looked forward to the reading the rest of their story in the next book.
About the Author
Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine. She is represented by Bob Diforio of D4EO Literary Agency.

“I’m the same man, Alayna. A man who commits to whichever plan he’s chosen. I had told myself I couldn’t have you. So I didn’t let myself even try.” - Hudson, Found in You
“Touch yourself, precious.” His voice was tight with effort to hold on. “Let’s come together.” - Found in You
"I will commit to this new plan as fiercely as the other. Even more fiercely. Because that plan was a compromise.” He pressed his forehead against mine. “This plan is the one I should have pursued to begin with. It’s the better plan.” - Hudson, Found in You
I opened my eyes and saw Hudson adjusting his tie in front of the dresser mirror, his back to me. He had yet to put on his jacket so I had a full view of his tight behind. God, that man could wear a suit. He could wear nothing as easily. I wasn’t choosy. - Alayna, Found in You
"I need you to know that I'm trying and I'm not going to stop trying until I get there. Do you hear me? Don't give up on me." - Hudson, Found in You
I’d never be a normal girl and Hudson would never be a normal guy, but perhaps we’d found the closest thing to normal that we’d ever be capable of achieving. And it was pretty damn good.” - Alayna, Found in You
“You’re the first person I’ve ever met who makes me believe I might not be crazy. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” Hudson, Found in You

  1. I know a lot of people don't but I always love reads like this one. Emotional and raw and sometime filled with things that make you want to smack the protagonists but you can't help but be rooting for them as well.
    Great review!

  2. This sounds good. Nice review & quotes :)

  3. I've heard great things about this series. I'm hoping to read it at some point.

    1. I think you would like it. I liked the second book better than the first.

  4. It's nice when you get a steamy story, but also a good one as well. So glad you enjoyed!

    1. I know. It makes such a difference. I read a book recently that had such a great plot that could have been developed but it was sex scene after sex scene. Granted they were hot, but it got old and sometimes less is more, especially when combined with a great story.

  5. Gosh, this sounds really steamy and I love the quotes you picked! I have heard great things about the first book, but never actually got a chance to read it. I don't often read adult romance / erotica books, but if a book sounds as good as this one does, I am all for it! Thank you for a beautiful review!

    1. Thanks for stopping by. I used to not read them at all, but now I do so more. If there is a good story involved I enjoy them. If not, then I don't really care to read them too much.

  6. Ok, I keep seeing outstanding reviews of this, I need to buy book one and find out about these wonderful characters :)

  7. I've heard some really great things about this series and I can't wait to read the first book. My only concern is Alayna's past relationships and the whole "stalker and obsessive love" thing...I'm not really sure what to think of that. Regardless, I really loved your review! :)

    1. It actually works out very well - they both have some major issues, but Laurelin Paige has made it work and it's a really good story. Thanks for stopping by!

  8. Thank you so much for hosting today!

Thanks for your comments. I love hearing from you!
