He is seeking absolution.
Flynn Caldwell has a hero complex and it’s one of the reasons he joined the New York City Fire Department. He has spent his entire professional career trying to atone for that one person he failed to save. Because, if he can do that, then perhaps he can be worthy of love again.

She is seeking escape.
Rowan Page’s life is nothing short of a disaster. Always immersed in trouble, she has only herself to depend on. She’s determined to pull herself out of this mess and make something of her life, despite the hard years she has lived on the streets of New York.

Together, they have the chance to become complete.
Flynn and Rowan’s worlds exist miles apart, but when a chance meeting brings them together, neither of them can deny the instant pull that connects them to each other. What starts as a tiny spark eventually flares into a fire so hot, it refuses to be extinguished.

Both are willing to jump feet first into the flames to see where it takes them, despite the risk of being burned.

My Thoughts:  I absolutely love this series, every book in it, and Sawyer Bennett delivers another great installment in Off Chance.  Each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but if you've read the series, then you'll be familiar with some of the characters and their history.  Off Chance is Flynn's story.  Flynn is Renner's brother, and cousin to Nix and Ryan from the previous installments.  We also meet a new character, Rowan, the love interest in this story.  Flynn is a firefighter and believe me is he ever hot.  In Off Chance, we get to get up close and personal with Flynn, finding out the back story as to why he chose to be a firefighter and a whole lot more.  Rowan, as stated above, is new to the story.  She is a tough nut to crack. Her background is sad and would leave most people broken, but because she is such as strong person, her past and her current circumstances have not destroyed her.  They have, however, shaped her and caused her to have major trust issues and also an over the top fear of relationships.  Flynn is the first friend she has made in years, and though the sparks and chemistry between them could light a bonfire that could be seen for miles, Rowan's issues hinder her ability to go to the next level.  Despite all of this, Flynn tries to be patient with her, but after what seems to be a major breakthrough, Rowan's walls come back up and she finds herself faced with the realization that she just may have lost Flynn for good.

I really enjoyed Off Chance.  The plot and pacing were excellent and kept my attention from beginning to end. The story line was really interesting, and kind of had a little bit of a suspenseful/thriller feel to it.  That coupled with the romance, the steamy scenes, and the build up to them, made for a captivating read.  I loved Flynn, everything about him.  Rowan was a little harder to like as much as some of the other female characters in the previous stories, but I did wind up liking her, even if I wanted to pop her a few times.  Nonetheless, her character is really exactly what it should be considering her past and present situations.  The romance aspect was great and true to form, Sawyer Bennett provided several really steamy scenes.  The sexual tension both prior to and after said steamy scenes was intense and ever present, despite Rowan's attempts to ignore it.  I loved getting to see the other characters from the previous books as they interacted with one another.  Then Sawyer Bennett delivers an absolutely wonderful epilogue that left me happy and satisfied with where everyone in the series was at that point.  Rowan even talks about something she would like to do that totally made me cave and really like her.  While this was originally supposed to be the last book in the series, Sawyer Bennett has graciously decided to continue the series, bringing much pleasure and happy dancing to her fans. If you haven't read anything from this series yet, it is one I highly recommend for all contemporary romance fans.
