Blood Debt Book Description:
Her whole life, it had just been the two of them. Before her mother’s last breath, she gave Camille the information she had craved her entire life: the identity of her father. Daring to contact him, Camille was welcomed by an entire family she never knew existed. But nothing comes without a price, as she discovers when her family claims a legendary heritage tracing back to a Centaur touched by Zeus.

As she learns the secrets of her Centaur bloodline, she is drawn into a forbidden love with Drake. Her family acknowledges her life may be the blood debt required to pay for her mother’s transgressions. The same person who once held her mother captive, and forced her into decades of hiding, now controls Camille. Her only chance is to seek a piece of her mother’s past that will win her freedom and the life she desperately desires.

Centaur Legacy Book Description:
Camille and Drake are on the run from the head of the Centaur Council, seeking the mythical pasture of Thessaly and a family heirloom that may keep them safe. As their journey progresses from the rolling hills of Ireland to the snow covered forests of South Dakota, Cami learns more about her mother’s secrets, including a twin brother and a Centaur legacy that puts a death warrant on her entire family.

Camille and Drake don't know who to trust or where to hide. Camille’s family is quick to come to her aid, but who among them can be trusted?

A supernatural benefactor forces Drake to choose between being the man he wants to be and the Centaur warrior Camille needs him to be.

Centaur Rivalry Book Description:
The Centaur world is rocked as news spreads of the Lost Herd, Camille's existence, and her Centaur protector. A death order against Camille's father and family sends all into hiding.

Camille and Drake leave the country pursued by the Lost Herd as well as by Centaur Council enforcers. Camille's twin brother Cameron is manipulated by the Council Head and is quickly becoming her newest enemy.

Amid unexpected new protectors, enemies, and romances, Camille and Drake make their plans to travel to Africa to confront the Centaur Council. They hope acceptance of Camille as Chiron's heir, yet knowing that her link to the Lost Herd could require them to kill or to be killed.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
Mid -2008 was when I first realized I wanted to be a writer.  I used to work with a lawyer who I had a great deal of respect for.  One day, out of the blue, he set down a pile of papers, looked me in the eye and said, “Ms. Straight, you are one of the most compelling writers I’ve ever known.” That was one of the most unexpected and flattering compliments I had ever received, especially knowing that what he had just read registered a “FULL-10” on the boring scale.  That compliment stuck with me for months, until one night, I started typing.

Do you have a routine that you use to get into the right frame of mind to write?
I wish!  My only routine is being in a quiet dark room with my dog Flash curled up beside me.  Sometimes inspiration comes from Ice Cream, sometimes Doritos, other times it just happens to be a quiet moment with my laptop open after my family has gone to bed or before they wake up.

Where do you get your ideas or inspiration for your characters?

The characters’ personalities are usually based on real people.  Not the circumstances the characters find themselves in, but the personality traits.  Most of my friends are incredibly strong, intelligent, successful women so the heroines in my stories are also very strong.  I like to think of them as a culmination of about five AMAZING women in my own life.

What books have most influenced your life?

I’m sure the right answer to this one should be several of the classics, but up until a few years ago, I used to HATE reading.  Yes, not dislike – HATE.  I’m convinced because I kept trying to read books that others told me were great literature, instead of stories that moved me.  The most influential books for me have all been written by Independent Authors.

Significance by Shelly Crane.  The story brought me to tears, made me laugh and at one point made my palms sweat.  There’s something about Shelly’s writing that made me want to pry my eyes open at 3 am when I knew I had to catch a nap because my alarm was going to go off at 5 am.

Premonition Series by Amy Bartol.  The main character Evie totally ticked me off in the beginning, but hers was the first book where I developed a full blown love affair with a fictional character.  I dare you not to fall in love with Reed!  Midway through the first book, her heroine grew on me.  Four books later I’m begging Amy to finish her next book.

Reckless Magic by Rachel Higginson.  This whole series was exceptional, I read all four books in eight days.  I laughed, cried, and when it was over I read it a second time just to make sure I didn’t miss anything my first time through.

Beg for Mercy by Shannon Dermott.  There are no words.  This is the only book I can remember reading where I read it at my son’s bus stop, at lunch, in the kitchen waiting for the stove to heat up for dinner, on the way to the movie theater with my husband.  I was obsessed.

Five by Christie Rich.  I met Christie Rich before I read her book and I wish I could tell everyone what I wrote her when I finished the third book.  LOL!  I’ll just leave it that I am soooooo in love with Heath and my husband should be jealous.

What do you like to do when you are not writing?

Writing is only one of my loves.  I have two amazing sons, three rotten dogs and a husband who I adore.  Evenings and weekends are spent playing board games or doing family activities.  ATV(s), Go Carts, Mini Golf, Amusement Parks, the beach, etc.  Of course, school nights are typically consumed with homework assistance and cooking dinner (although I have to confess cooking isn’t anything that I like to do!).  I have a full-time career that I love.  Oh, and there are a few shows on television I try to squeeze in when I’m not sleeping!

Any future writing news you would like to share?

Centaur Redemption, the fourth book in the Touched Series is nearly complete.  I hope to publish it before the end of this year!!

About the Author
Author Bio:  I LOVE Starbucks’ White Mocha Latte and Mountain Dew, (but not together). I have a lead foot so I set cruise control when I drive, even in 25 MPH zones. I almost never win when I play Angry Birds, but have my 9 year old close, so he can clear the hard levels for me. I grew up on a farm and am opposed to eating fresh chicken (not opposed to meat - just opposed to any meat that was alive a few hours before lunch). I am a huge fan of the show, Big Bang Theory, on CBS.  I have two fantastic sons, three rotten dogs and a husband that I adore.

    1. Thanks!! Just before he retired I gave him a signed copy of my first book. I told him I thought his wife might like it more than he would, but it was the thought that counts, right? :)
