Book Boyfriend of the Week: Dominic Kinkaide from Before We Fall by Courtney Cole

TITLE: "Book Boyfriend of the Week: What kind is yours?"
This is a meme created by Reading and Things for bloggers to talk about their boyfriends and teases their readers with things they've said.
Want to participate?
All you have to do is:

1) Pick a book boyfriend, it can be from the book your currently reading or from one you've already read.
2) Write what kind of boyfriend he is, and if you want, say why you think that.
3) Pick a quote from his book, it could be long or short, that proves he is the kind of boyfriend you said he is
4) Make sure the quote, and the explanation, DO NOT give away anything from the book (we want all of the twists and plot surprises to remain surprises)
5) Share it! Add you name and link to the Linky below.

This week my book boyfriend is Dominic Kinkaide from Before We Fall by Courtney Cole.  Dominic does bad, bad things.  He's the kind of boyfriend I will gaze at from afar, because honestly, I don't think I could handle him.

Before We Fall (Beautifully Broken #3)
by Courtney Cole
Release Date:  December 3, 2013
Publisher:  Grand Central Publishing, Forever Romance
Summary:
One dark moment was all it took to turn twenty-four-year-old Dominic Kinkaide's world black. On the night of his high school graduation, a single incident changed him forever, and he became a hardened man-famous in the eyes of the world, but tortured inside. Now all he cares about is losing himself in the roles that he plays.

At twenty-three years old, Jacey Vincent doesn't realize how much her father's indifference has affected her. She is proof that sometimes it isn't one specific moment that wrecks a person, but an absence of moments. She tries to find acceptance in the arms of men to fill the void-a plan that has worked just fine for her, until she meets Dominic.  When jaded Dominic and strong-willed Jacey are thrown together, the combination of his secrets and her issues turns their attraction into the perfect storm. It could change their lives for good-if it doesn't tear them both apart…

I like to watch.  I know that I shouldn't, but I don't really give a s**t......Watching makes me feel something.  It's one of the only things that does.
He will decimate you, I tell myself.  But my problem is, every time I look into his dark eyes and see the mysterious things that lurk there, I forget that.  I forget everything that is supposed to matter......Jacey
"....You won't have to go through that pain again.  I promise."  He closes his eyes and I feel him relax into the bed next to me.  "Ok.  I'll just worry about f***ing you up with by f***ed-uppedness," he mutters as he pulls me into his arms.  "Don't worry about that either,"  I tell him softly, pressing a kiss to his damp brow.  "I'm f***ed up enough on my own."

"I wanted to write stories that people could relate to, stories where my characters were far from perfect, but had readers rooting for them to succeed, to overcome their personal demons......The fact of the matter is, real life can be a bitch sometimes.  It can slap you, shove you around, and then kick you while your down.  But the important thing is this:  Life is hard, but it can only break you if you let it......Your life is your own.  If you don't like it, if it makes you sad, if it makes you discouraged on a daily basis, change it.  Change everything about it until you're in love with your life and it's exactly how you want it.  If Dominic, Jacey, Madison, Gabriel, Pax and Mila have shown you anything, I hope it is that.  That you can be dealt a really crappy hand in life, but the power to change everything rests within you.  You hold the key to your own happiness.  We've each got one life.  live the heck out of yours." .......Courtney Cole

    1. Dominic is really really bad. I'd be scared of him if he were a real person but I'd still want to stare at him.
