Take a Chance
by Abbi Glines
Publisher:  Atria Books
Length:  288 Pages
Publication Date:  February 25, 2014

Book Description:
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the story of Grant, the sexy playboy who first captured readers’ hearts in Fallen Too Far.

When Harlow Manning’s rocker father goes on tour, he sends her to Rosemary Beach, Florida, to live with her half-sister, Nan. The problem: Nan despises her. Harlow has to keep her head down if she wants to get through the next nine months, which seems easy enough. Until gorgeous Grant Carter walks out of Nan’s room in nothing but his boxer briefs.

Grant made a huge mistake getting involved with a girl with venom in her veins. He’d known about Nan’s reputation, but still he couldn’t resist her. Nothing makes him regret the fling more than meeting Harlow, who sends his pulse racing. Yet Harlow wants nothing to do with a guy who could fall for her wicked half-sister—even if there are no strings between Grant and Nan. Grant is desperate to redeem himself in Harlow’s eyes, but did he ruin his chances before he even met her?

My Thoughts:   I am a huge fan of Abbi Gllines and I can honestly say that if she writes it, I am going to read it.  Take a Chance is the first book in her Chance Series and spinoff or continuation of the Rosemary Beach Series.  True to form Glines provides us with hot sexy guys, steamy romance, and a story that keeps you turning the pages.

Take a Chance is Grant's, who we met in the Rosemary Beach Series, and Harlow's story.  In the beginning of the book Abbi Glines kind of gives you a little bit of history rotating between present day and several months prior, so the reader knows what is going on with the characters.  Grant is crazy about Harlow, but he's also afraid of is feelings for her.  He's always been a player, and he's got a huge strike against him.....that strike being Nan.  Glines has done an excellent job of making Nan one of those characters you love to hate, and she lives up to that reputation once again in Take a Chance.

As the story progresses we find out more about Kiro and see a side of him that is both beautiful and heartbreaking.  Harlow, despite her sheltered lifestyle and innocence, displays a strength that is most impressive.  I did feel she was a little too forgiving with Grant, but she loves the guy, so what can you say. She also has a secret that  no ones knows, but will they find out?  You'll have to read the book to see.  While Grant is all kinds of sexy, I have to say that there's a new guy in town and he has captured my attention big time.  I cannot wait to get more of him.  Who is he?  Well he's Harlow's brother Mase, and I can't wait for you to meet him.  You also get to see some of the favorite characters from the Rosemary Beach Series.  There is of course Blaire, Rush, and baby Nate, as well as Bethy, Kiro, and Dean, among others.

I always enjoy Abbi Glines writing style.  She has a talent for sucking the reader in and making you feel like you are right there with the characters in the book.  Take a Chance is another great romance that proves to be hot, sexy, and romantic - and Abbi Glines knows how to do romance.  The ending kind of made me want to pull my hair out, but it also leaves me dying to read the next book in the story and find out more about Harlow and Grant's story in One More Chance.  Did I enjoy it?  Oh, I most definitely did.  Do I recommend it?  I most certainly do.  Get your fan ready girls, because you are going to need it, as Abbi Glines delivers another great story to her readers in Take a Chance.

  3. I haven't tried any of her books but I do appreciate a good writing style even if the story sometimes isn't necessarily my cup of tea. That's pure talent if I get pulled in. I'll give her a shot one of these days.
