Book Title: Take Two
Author: Laurelin Paige
Release Date: February 4, 2014
Publisher: Samhain Publishing
Summary: He’s ready for his close up, but she’s the one calling the shots.

On the night of her graduation from film school, straight-laced Maddie Bauers fell completely out of character for an oh-my-god make-out session with a perfect stranger. Complete with the big O.

Seven years later, that romantic interlude is still fresh in her mind. That stranger is now a rich and famous actor. And she’s one very distracted camera assistant working on his latest production. She might consider another tryst…if he even remembers her.

Micah Preston does indeed remember Maddie. Too bad he’s sworn off Hollywood relationships. He allows himself as much sex as he likes—and oh, he does like—but anything more is asking for trouble. For the woman, not for him. Yet knowing Maddie could want more than a movie-set fling doesn’t stop him from pursuing her like a moth drawn to hot stage lights.

But as the shoot nears its end, it’s decision time. Is it time to call, “Cut!” on their affair, or is there enough material for a sequel?

Warning: Contains a dreamy movie star hero, a focus-pulling heroine, off-the-charts instant chemistry, steamy sex in near-public locations, and a new use for lip gloss.

The next thing she knew, Micah had pulled her from her seat to the dark recesses of the hall behind them. He held her against the wall, pinning her arms with his own and growled more than spoke. “I make you hot and bothered?”
Maddie’s voice came out small and thin. “You know you do.”
“Well, here I am. Does it really seem like I’m only teasing?” He leaned in and she closed her eyes, waiting for his kiss. But he stopped just short of her mouth. He circled her face with his own, barely grazing her with his nose. His breath tickled and awakened her as it touched her neck, her ear, her skin. She was on fire, molten lava, and she needed more—needed him. Involuntarily she arched her back, wanting him against her.
Taking her cue, he pressed against her tightly, meeting her body in all the right places.
She gasped as she felt his desire, hard and throbbing against her belly. More, more, she wanted more, needed him on her, inside her.
Behind them the movie roared into action, shocking her to her senses. What was she doing? She pushed him away and ran into the empty lobby of the theater, blinking as her eyes adjusted to the light.
She heard Micah follow her and she turned on him, angry. “What is it you want from me?”
“You.” He took a step toward her. “I want you.”
My Thoughts:  I previously read a few of Laurelin Page's books that I really enjoyed so when I read the synopsis for Take Two, I couldn't wait to find out what she had in store for us in this novel.  Maddie Bauers has just graduated from film school and finds herself at a party with her best friend Bree, even though the whole party scene is not something she enjoys.  When trying to find a quiet place to get away from it all, she ends up running into the gorgeous Micah Preston, and finds herself spending a heated and passionate few minutes in heaven with him.  What she doesn't know is then, but soon finds out later, is that Micah Preston is an up and coming actor. Now 7 years later, Maddie finds herself filling in for a friend on a film, and the star of the film happens to be none other that the "party hottie from heaven," Micah Preston.  What she doesn't know is that "Maddie from the party," made an impression on him that he will never forget. Nevertheless, he doesn't do relationships of any kind, ever, so it's best to act like he doesn't know her, or is it?  As work on the film progresses, Micah can't stay away from Maddie, and the feeling is mutual.  Thinks get heated and the two enjoy a secret fling that turns into a lot more, but when the films over, Micah must decide where Maddie fits in his life, but Maddie has her own ideas and dreams, and must also decide what part she is willing to settle for in the relationship, if there even is one.
I really liked Maddie's character.  She was very likable, yet simple, and really, the best word to describe her is "real."  She didn't play the Hollywood games, nor did she look to use who she could to climb the ladder of success.  I liked Micah to, though he did have his arrogant "I'm all that" moments when I could have slapped him.  Of course he is super hot and sexy as sin, but I think the thing that I liked most about him was watching him grow and fall in love with Maddie, and the person he became as he did.  As far as the secondary characters, I think Micah's best friend and body guard Fudge was my favorite, but all were well written and the parts the secondary characters played added a great deal to the story.
The more I read of the book, the more I enjoyed and found myself caught up in Maddie and Micah's story, and there really wasn't a dull moment in it.  I found Take Two to be romantic, sexy, the plot was great, and the characters were easy to connect with, and I was easily caught up in the cheering section rooting for them to have their happily ever after.  If you are a contemporary romance fan, then Take Two is really and enjoyable and entertaining read than I would recommend checking out.

About Laurelin: Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.
