Synopsis:  Ringo ‘Ringer’ James has a no-strings-attached policy.
Love them, leave them, and remain the eternal bachelor.
After a summer in which every one of his mates has succumbed to settling down, or so it seemed, Ringer is on the lookout for a quick exit. Having had enough of the stomach-turning love fest witnessed over the past three months, Ringer jumps at the opportunity to help out his mate, Max, by heading to Max’s dad’s property for a working holiday.
It’s just what he’s looking for. A remote, dusty homestead in Ballan, with only hard work, a cold beer and a comfy bed to worry about – no women.
Until Miranda Henry.
The privately educated daughter of his boss has returned home from overseas and things are about to get very complicated, very fast. As summer draws to its end, Ringer is about to learn that sometimes attraction defies all logic, and that there really is such a thing as ‘enemies with benefits.’

Ringer is Book #4 in C.J’s mature young adult SUMMER SERIES, a series filled with intoxicatingly sweet romances and addictive, swoon worthy characters. The Summer Series is set in Onslow and it is here where you will meet the ruggedly handsome Onslow Boys - a group of men SO HOT in appearance and so likable in personality that’ll leave you craving MORE. Now imagine that, set it against a sizzling hot Australian background, fill it with good old Australian humour and there you have the Summer Series!

My Review:  The Summer Series by by C.J. Duggan has become one of my favorites and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each of the Onslow Boys and the girls they love, and while I do love each of them, my favorite thus far has been Sean Murphy from An Endless Summer, the second book in the series.  Well, I have to say while I do love you dearly Sean, you are going to have to step down from the throne because Ringer has taken your place as my favorite Onslow boy thus far.  While I enjoyed getting to know Ringer in the other books in the series (which are companion novels), I totally fell in love with him in this book, and I can't wait for you to meet him.

Miranda Henry is the love interest in the book and the female main character.  She is a biatch to the hilt, but I really did like her a lot.  She was just the kind of girl Ringer needed, and I think he is probably the only one who could handle her.  That said, Ringer is also just the kind of guy Miranda needed also, and probably only one who would capture her attention, as well as probably the only girl who could handle him.  Their relationship was a love-hate one filled with firey passion, and while they couldn't stand each other to start with, they also couldn't deny the chemistry and the desire for one another either.  I have to say that their inner rantings as well as the banter between them was hilarious and proved to provide for one entertaining read..The other Onslow boys make an appearance as well, which was awesome, and we got to meet a few new characters also.

This is a 155 page novella, but it packs a punch and leaves you feeling totally satisfied and content with both the content and the ending, giving you more the feel of a novel.  There is also a wonderful epilogue, which I also adored.  I can't wait to read the next book in the series, which will be Adam and Ellie's story, and will be coming out in July.  If you are a contemporary romance fan, especially of the new adult genre, then this is a book and a series that stands out among the many and one I most certainly highly recommend.

  7. It's great when a novella can pack a punch! I love that the banter and inner rantings of Ringer and Miranda were funny and entertaining! I enjoy the love-hate trope in stories, and the fiery passion between the main characters makes for a sexy story! Great Review Ellen! I need to meet these Onslow Brothers! This series sounds like my favorite kind of read!!!
