Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for All Lined Up by Cora Carmack.  My stop today features a character interview with Carson McClain, as well as a giveaway and my review.  You can see the entire tour schedule here.  Thanks so much for stopping  by!

ALL LINED UP Synopsis:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

Character Interview with Carson McClain from All Lined Up by Cora Carmack

Hi Carson.  Thanks for being here today (sigh…swoon…..drool).

Tell me something about you we don’t learn from the book?

Hmm... I'm not sure how many more secrets I want to spill. But Dallas isn't here, so I guess it doesn't hurt to say that I took a dance class. I wanted to be able to understand the thing she loved, but I am SO not flexible, and that class was freaking hard.

You’ve had to work a little harder than most to get where you are at.  Was it worth it?

Absolutely. Where I'm from, you put in the work. You pay your dues. It keeps you from being ungrateful. And it's that much better when you succeed.

How would you describe yourself?

I'm pretty simple really. I try to do right by people. I work hard. I just want a good life surrounded by good people. That's about it.

How would you describe Dallas?

Passionate. Honest. Beautifully complicated.

How would you describe Cora J?

Haha. Obsessive. A giant nerd.

What is your most prized possession?

I don't know that possession is the right word, but my favorite horse is still out at my parent's ranch. His name is Bruce Wayne because I had a real thing for Batman growing up.

Who is your hero?

Don't tell Dallas, but I look up to her Dad a lot. He has an incredible career, and he just has a way of bringing people together. Plus, he raised my favorite person in the world.

Can you tell us a little about when you and Dallas first met?

Haha. Well, she screams really loud. That's the very first thing I noticed about her. The next things I noticed had much more to do with how she looked than how she sounded.

What is your favorite scene from All Lined Up?

I'm particularly fond of that epilogue.

Just for fun – complete the sentence:

I have never ____been on a vacation (sucks, right?)______

I always ____feel hungry. Always. ______

I love __the country._________

I hate ___people who complain. Whining doesn't change anything. _________

Thanks again for being here today Carson.  It was great having you!

My Review:  In what has become her trademark style, Cora Carmack has provided her readers with a romance that is purely enjoyable in All Lined Up, the first book in her Rusk University Series.  This New Adult Romance is beautifully written with not only a great story line, but also the romance laced with Cora Carmack's gift for writing humor into a story that her fans will love.

I love sports-themed novels and this one centers around college football.  The main characters are Dallas and Carson.  Dallas is starting her first year in college and her dad is the football coach, something that she considers both bad and good in a variety of different ways. I loved her character and found her not only likable, but easy to connect with, but just all around enjoyable.  Carson is a quarterback, second string, who finds himself quickly propelled into the first string position.  I loved him.  His family is not wealthy and he has had to fight his way, tooth and nail, working his butt off to get to go to college, and is one of the ones who truly appreciates it.  Of course he's hot, sexy, and has that swoon factor that Carmack delivers when writing her male leads.  There are quite a few secondary characters that I also loved and can't wait to see more of in future installments in this series.

The synopsis of this book couldn't describe this book more perfectly.  The romance will make you smile, swoon, and laugh while bringing on just the right amount of steam to make it exciting.  I love Cora Carmack's writing style and she has captivated me once again in All Lined Up.  If you are a fan of contemporary romance and want a true "New Adult" feel good romance, then All Lined Up is a book I would definitely recommend checking out.  I can't wait to see what Cora Carmack has in store for her readers next in this series.
