From a New York Times bestselling author, a brand new sexy contemporary romance featuring military bad boys:  A BEAUTIFUL DISTRACTION by Kelsie Leverich.

Nothing’s more dangerous than a bad boy with a broken heart…

First Sergeant Rafe Murano did everything to the extreme. He trained harder, he fought harder, and unfortunately, he loved harder. But he fell for the wrong woman and it nearly destroyed him.

Back home from a deployment, with no mission to consume him, Murano’s ravaged by memories of his past. So he drinks until he’s numb and drowns himself in meaningless one night stands. But they only take the edge off…

Until he meets Fallon.

Fallon Kelly learned the hard way not to take risks with her heart, But she sees something  irresistible in the tatted-up bad boy one more punch away from a ride in the back of a squad car. She offers a distraction. And he quickly becomes an addiction. Little does she know, this bad boy could love so hard it could break her…

My Thoughts:  I have totally fallen in love with this series and couldn't wait to get my hands on the next installment, A Beautiful Distraction, which is Rafe Murano and Fallon Kelly's story.  We met and got a glimpse of Rafe Murano's life in Feel The Rush, so I couldn't wait to see how Kelsie Leverich was going to develop and make me fall in love with this broody, hot, alpha male soldier.  Fallon is new to the series and I really liked her character - she's an alpha female in her own regard, and the perfect match for Murano, having a certain air about her that exudes confidence.  While A Beautiful Distraction is part of the Hard Feelings Series, it is a companion novel and can be read as a standalone.  While the books all revolve around the hottest of the HOT military guys, each story is unique and captivating in its own regard, which Leverich demonstrates once again in this most recent installment that has a bit of a darker feel to it than the previous novels, but is still smexy as sin.  Murano is in a dark place after returning from his last tour of duty.  He is still trying to forget the woman that broken his heart, drowning himself in booze and women, and Mr. Bad Boy Sex on a Stick is irresistible to pretty much all of them.  Fallon Kelly owns one of the most prestigious burlesque clubs in the country and has her own riches to rags to riches story which has left her broken, yet determined and focused, with walls and rules in place that would deter even the man of steel.  Well, when Fallon meets Rafe Murano, she has finally discovered her kryptonite, because this badass sexy soldier can tear down, melt, and squeeze through even the best-constructed walls.

The characters - well I totally fell in love with them.  It was also great to see some of the characters from the previous two novels make an appearancel, as well as some new ones, and they all add so much to the story.  Both Fallon and Rafe have unspoken, yet painful pasts.  I read the book over two evenings, and didn't want to put it down.  If you are a contemporary romance fan, then A Beautiful Distraction and the entire Hard Feelings series are a must read, and I think you will thoroughly enjoy them.

Kelsie Leverich grew up in the small town of St. Joseph Illinois before getting married and following her husband from one Army post to another.  After eight years, they finally settled down in Avon, Indiana with two adorable knuckleheads that are better known as her kids.  Kelsie's life revolves around her family (to include two dogs and a cat) and most of the time, actually all of the time, it’s a crazy mess—but that’s the way she loves it!  When Kelsie’s not writing, you can usually find her snuggling on the couch with her kids and a good book or out on the lake with family and friends.  Kelsie is not a morning person, has a soft spot for animals, loves musicals, hates seafood, and thinks laundry is the source of all evil.

  7. The girls look on the cover made me chuckle. I'm thinking it's not intentional, but she looks like she's thinking something not so good about the guy.
    Glad you enjoyed this one!
