Blurb:
Eight years ago, Scott and Gaby shared one very special night. Not wanting to ruin their friendship, they didn't take things further...but neither of them has forgotten.

When Scott’s friends stage an intervention to make him realize that his fiancĂ©, Victoria, is all wrong for him, he takes time to evaluate his life. He’s earned a big promotion and just bought his dream car, but those things are just superficial. The one time he was truly happy, was with Gaby.

Gaby is in a good place in her life. She loves her job, has the best friends and family a girl could ask for, and is dating a sweet and sexy guy, but she’s never stopped thinking about that night with Scott.

Eager to find happiness again, Scott makes a plan to win Gaby’s heart during a weekend getaway, but she doesn’t want to be his rebound girl. Will 42 hours be enough to convince Gaby that it's finally their time for love?

My Review:   42 Hours is the third book in Bethany Lopez's Time for Love Series, and while part of a series, can also be read as a standalone.  I've always enjoyed Bethany Lopez's writing, and have been looking forward to reading this installment in the series.  42 Hours is Scott and Gaby's story, and is a friends to lovers romance.  Scott and Gaby shared one special night together in high school, and afterwards, decided to go back to being friends because neither wanted to mess that up.  Eight years later, they've each been in relationships while remaining good friends, but now Scott is about to make the biggest mistake of his life resulting in Gaby and his other close knit group of friends to intervene.  After manning up and doing what he needs to do, he realizes that he is finally ready to act on his feelings for Gaby that he's been secretly harboring for all these years.  What he doesn't know is that Gaby has been secretly pining for him also and wants a relationship with him more than anything, but she's been dating someone else and doesn't want to be the rebound girl either. One long weekend, 42 hours, is what Scott has to convince her that he's serious.

I enjoyed getting to know Scott and Gaby's characters.  We'd met them in the previous two novels as secondary characters, so it was nice to see them get their own story.  You also get to see the characters from the previous companion novels in this series again, which was something I really enjoyed also.  The story itself is romantic and sweet, and just one of those feel-good stories that will make you smile.  If you enjoy contemporary romance and are looking for a sweet, relaxing, and romantic read, then 42 hours definitely fits the bill.
