This week my book boyfriend is Dewayne Falco from Hold on Tight by Abbi Glines.
(Sea Breeze #8)
by Abbi Glines
Published: June 3, 2014
Publisher: Simon Pulse
- Narrated By
Six years ago, Dewayne Falco's life changed. He lost someone he never expected to lose. Resigned to punish himself for something he felt he could have prevented, he goes through life without getting too close to anyone.
What he didn't expect was for the girl across the street to move back home and remind him of what they both lost: Dewayne's younger brother Dustin. However, when a miniature version of Dustin opens the door to greet him, Dewayne realizes he might not have lost everything after all.
Sienna Roy loved Dustin Falco most of her life. He was the boy next door, the high school basketball star and her best friend. But when his life was cut short, she realized he left a part of himself behind.
Now, she's back in Sea Breeze, thankful to have a home for her and Dustin's son, but not sure if she can ever forgive the people across the street who abandoned her when she needed them the most — The Falcos.
Betrayal, lies, and forbidden attraction might end Dewayne and Sienna's story before it's even begun.

Audiobook Review: The Sea Breeze series has always been on of my favorites by Abbi Glines and I love all the yummy guys she has created that live there. Makes me want to visit and maybe stay there for a while, especially if I could get one of my own. I have my favorites of course, and Cage York will forever own my heart, but I must say that I have really been looking forward to getting the time to get to know Dewayne Falco. He's been in all the books of the series in some capacity and has been a bit of an enigma in that you know he is badass, tough, and doesn't care what he says or what people think of him. He is a player, and he also enjoys stirring up a little trouble and goading his friends on. In Hold on Tight, we get to see an entirely different side of Dewayne Falco - up close and personal. Abbi Glines takes you inside his head, inside his heart, and lets you see things through his eyes, and let me just say Dewayne Falco is one sexy, dirty talking, hot guy with a heart as big as Texas. Not only do we get to see all this about Dewayne, but we also get his past history, what has made him the way he is, as well as the things that have happened in his life and to those he loves. This is where Sienna comes in. She is a part of Dewayne's past, his present, and his future...... and this is their story.
I loved Sienna. She is just a sweetheart and you can't help but love her, want to protect her, as well as root for her all at the same time. Sienna's life has been anything but easy. She has traveled a hard road and has been treated so badly by those that should have loved her and taken care of her, yet she has managed to rise above all of that because of one beautiful little boy. After almost 6 years away, Sienna finds herself back in Sea Breeze, right back where she started, looking at the house the guy who stole her heart lived in. The chemistry between Dewayne and Sienna is electric, and I loved watching their relationship grow as they come to terms with their past, their hurts, their misunderstandings, and all the road blocks they have to get past to get a future together. As always, we get to see some of the characters we've grown to know and love from the other books in the series, which is always something I look forward to. Hold on Tight is a great story and I loved getting to know Dewayne and seeing him get his own HEA. Can't wait for the grand finale of the series, Until the End, coming out 10/28/14. The Audiobook was great and I especially loved Sebastian York's narration of Dewayne.
Quotes:“He’ll see that if you love a woman, you fight like hell to hold on to her. And you don’t fucking walk away when things get tough.”
“You’re one of the best men I know. You wear your tats and piercings and those damn leather bracelets that only you could get away with. But inside you are one big teddy bear. When someone you love needs you, there is nothing you won’t do for them. When I needed you, you were always there. I’ve never questioned your heart. It’s made of fucking gold, and we all know it. We laugh at your crude jokes and snide comments because we know they mean nothing. It’s part of your shield. Underneath, I don’t know many men that compare. You’re one of the best, Dewayne. One of the best.”
“Women were fucking complicated, but the right one turned the shit in life to gold with a simple smile.”
