Carolina Cold Fury star Garrett Samuelson never wants to miss out on a single minute of fun. Whether he’s playing hockey, hanging out with friends, or walking the red carpet with a new date on his arm, he lives every day to the fullest. When he meets Olivia Case, he sees someone who’s exactly his type—confident, sexy, smart . . . his next fling. But the more he pursues her, the more Garrett shares a side of himself that other women don’t normally get to see.

Olivia has been keeping a secret. While Garrett lives for the next thrill, Olivia’s not sure she’ll live to see the next day. She’s undergoing treatment for some serious medical issues, and she doesn’t have time for a relationship with no guarantees—especially one with a hot-as-sin womanizer who won’t take no for an answer. But as she gets to know the real Garrett, Olivia can’t help falling for him . . . hard. To reveal the truth would mean risking everything—but you can’t score without taking the tough shots.

My Thoughts:  I love Sawyer Bennet's books and all the totally hot alpha males she creates and causes you to totally fall in love with.  I mean look at the cover, how can you help but fall for this hot hockey player.  While Bennett delivers the romance and the steam, Garret is different from her other novels, and I mean that in a very good way.  I absolutely adored Garrett and Olivia's story, which is one that will cause your heart to both break and rejoice.  There is a depth to this story that is so much more than your typical contemporary romance, and I think this is something that both fans and new readers will both thorougly enjoy.

That said, Garrett is one of those book boyfriends that you just want to reach in to the pages and take out for your very own.  I loved seeing the man he became over the course of the novel.  While this is a companion novel and can easily be read as a standalone, you also get to see characters from the first book, which was another plus.  Then there is the epilogue, which was beautifully done, giving you the happy feeling of completeness in the way things pan out for Garrett and Olivia.  If you love contemporary romance, especially sports themed romance, then you will love Garrett.
