The emotional and unforgettable new romance from the New York Times bestselling author of the On Dublin Street series.

Ever since, Alexa has worked to turn her life in a different direction and forge her own identity outside of his terrible secrets,. But when she meets a man who’s as damaged by her father’s mistakes as she is, Alexa must help him.

Caine Carraway wants nothing to do with Alexa’s efforts at redemption, but it’s not so easy to push her away. Determined to make her hate him, he brings her to the edge of her patience and waits for her to walk away. But his actions only draw them together and, despite the odds, they begin an intense and explosive affair.

My Thoughts:  I love Samantha Young's On Dublin Street Series and I've been really excited about reading her newest release, Hero, a contemporary romance this time set in the good old USA.  Caine Carraway is a self-made millionaire.  He knows what he wants and he usually gets it.  Caine also has a past that few know much about.  Alexa Holland's life hasn't been easy, but she's more than made the best of the hand she's been dealt.  When fate causes  Alexa and Caine's paths to cross, Caine finds she is much more than a pretty face and that their pasts are more connected than he could ever imagine.  Alexa is determined to make amends, while Caine is determined to make her go away.  This combination makes for an interesting romance and quite an entertaining story.

I loved Alexa's character.  She was just one of those characters that you immediately connect with.  She has a great personality, is funny, fun loving, and passionate.  I loved her humorous dialogues.  She also has a lot of patience, especially where Caine is concerned....more than I would have had.  Caine was hot, of course, and he did win me over in the end, but it took a while for him to grow on me.  He was kind of a jerk in the beginning, but he knows that and doesn't make excuses for it.  While I did like him, he didn't win me over as much as Samantha Young's On Dublin Street hotties did.  The romance was great and Young delivers the steam, and the overall story and it's outcome was very good.  If you are a contemporary romance fan, Hero is definitely one you'll want to add to your TBR list.

  1. I so need to try one of her books! Glad this was another hit!

  2. I have enjoyed everything that I have read so far by Samantha Young so I'm looking forward to reading Hero. I'm not a big fan of jerky heroes so I am hoping I like Caine.

    A great review Ellen.

  3. Another one I have and need to read. I was so, so on her other series but I'm excited to give this series a go.
