Review: Fall With Me by Jennifer Armentrout

FALL WITH ME
(Wait for You #4)
by Jennifer Armentrout
Publisher:  Avon (March 31, 2015)

Synopsis:
Eleven months ago, bartender and weird-shirt-wearing extraordinaire Roxy and Officer Reece Anders had a one night stand. Well, kind of. She’s been in love with him since she was fifteen, and he wishes that night they shared never happened. She’s sworn him off forever, but the past and future collide, forcing her to rely on the one man who broke her heart not once, but twice.

Her best friend since birth has been in a long-term care facility since he became a victim of a hate crime years ago, and the person who put him in there is out of prison and wanting to make amends with him and Roxy. She’s not sure she has room for forgiveness in her and when she begins to receive frightening messages and is on the receiving end of escalating violence, she thinks she knows who is to blame. The man who already destroyed one life already.

But Reece isn’t convinced. The threats are too personal, and even if Roxy doesn’t believe him, he’s not willing to let anyone hurt her. Including himself. He’s already messed up more than once when it comes to Roxy and he’s not going to let history repeat itself.

My Thoughts:  I can't begin to even tell you how much I enjoyed this book.  Jennifer Armentrout has outdone herself yet again, providing her readers with an exceptionally entertaining, romantic, and suspenseful story all wrapped up in her trademark humor, which is like the icing on the cake.  I completely and totally loved both Roxy and Reece.  Roxy's sense of humor and inner ranting were so very funny and added so much to the book.  Then there is Reece, oh what a hottie, and he has a sense of humor that not only compliments, but also completes Roxy's.  He is also all kinds of Alpha male, but knows just how to use it with Roxy, especially in the bedroom.

The story in itself is not only romantic and oh so very steamy, but also suspenseful and dangerous, with just the right amount of humor mixed it to balance everything out.  Then there is Roxy's best friend Charlie.  His story is heartbreaking and tragic, marking and changing so many lives.  I enjoyed watching Reece and Roxy overcome the misunderstandings of the past that kept them apart, and then tackle their current issues, while learning that life goes on, even when it seems like it's impossible to do so.  Another treat was getting to see a little bit of the characters from the previous novels.  It was great seeing what was going on with them now.  Jennifer Armentrout incorporated the secondary characters so well into this story, making each of them feel significant without taking the focus of the main characters in the book.

Fall With Me is one of those stories that owns you from beginning to end, and when it's all said and done, you're left smiling, sated, and ready for the next book.  Contemporary romance fans will definitely want to check this one out.

Quotes:
"I have a feeling my girl is about to make you proud."
My mouth dropped open.
"My girl?  Oh!"  Mom flapped her hands in front of her face as she called for my dad.  "Best news I've heard all - "
"Mom"....."That's is not why we came here and - "
"Don't ruin this for me."  She turned as I rolled my eyes......"I have to call your mom,  We need -"
"Oh for the love of God."  I threw up my hands.....
I wanted to throw myself down on the porch and flail like a toddler having an epic meltdown.

.....Mom eyed me like a shrew.  "Do you also remember how I showed her some of your work?"
How could I forget?" I glanced at my tea wishing it had liquor in it.  Maybe even some meth at this point.  Wait.  Could meth be liquid?  I'd have to ask Reece.  But not right now, because he was eyeballing me as Dad plopped a huge pile of noodles on his plate.
Everyone sat, but mom was like a pit bull.  "She is still very interested."

Dad came down the steps, his cheeks flushed with anger.  "I don't want her seeing that."
Now, of course, I had to see it.  "Let me go."  When Reece didn't, I felt that i was seconds from my head spinning right off, Exorcist style.

Wordless, all I could do was stare at him.  He was so handsome, but it was the openness in his steady gaze, the acceptance of me and all my crazy that really undid me.
You've fallen, an insidious voice whispered and I wanted to smack that dumb bitch upside her head, because another chirpier voice was pointint out that I probably fell when I was fifteen.  It was just a long, slow-motion kind of fall at this point.
You got the potato salad?
"Huh?" I murmured, distracted by the warring voices in my head.
He gestured at my feet.  "The potato salad that we bought at the store that you insisted on putting in another plastic container so it looked like you actually made it, when I'm sure there's no one here that is going to believe you actually made that."
"Oh!"  I bent over, scooping up the tub.  "I totally made this."

“Remember everything I said in the bedroom? I'm scared, too. And there are times I question what I deserve, but we're in this together. So fall with me," he said, smoothing his thumbs along my cheekbones. "Let yourself go and fall with me, and baby, I will catch you. I will get you through this. You just got to take that risk.”
