My Thoughts:  I love books about MMA fighters and I have to say that Holding Strong is one that I thoroughly enjoyed.  This is my first book by Lori Foster, and yes, I could kick myself for not reading her books sooner.  Though it is the second book in this series, it can easily be read as a standalone.  Having said that, however, I can't wait to read it's predecessor(s).  One of the things I really enjoyed about this book, was the feeling of comradery between the characters.  They are obviously a tight-knit group that have each others' back.  Even though I didn't know the in-depth history of the characters in previous books, I immediately felt as if I knew them, and can't wait to go back and read their stories, as well as the future installments that come out.

The romance is awesome, and there is an element of danger and suspense that adds that edge of your seat feel to the story.  Denver Lewis has wanted Cherry Peyton for quite a while, denying himself for far too long, however, due to misconceptions about himself, about her, and about relationships.  When Cherry makes one last attempt to unite them, he realizes he can't turn her down.  As he gets to know her, the story of her past unravels and she begins to trust him more.  She has had an extremely rough time of it, and when the past rises up like a snake waiting to bite her, this quickly turn dangerous.  The romance between the two is hot, and Denver, well he is like the ultimate Alpha male on steroids.  He has some issues to overcome also, and Cherry helps him as well.  Overall, Holding Strong is a really great story that fans of contemporary romance will will definitely enjoy.
