Review Tour: The Girl I Was Before by Ginger Scott with Giveaway

THE GIRL I WAS BEFORE by Ginger Scott is finally here! Check out the review and giveaway below!

 NA Contemporary Romance
Scheduled to release: June 23, 2015

I’m the selfish one. I suppose that’s the nicest thing people say about me. I’ve heard the other things, too. “Paige Owens is a pretty girl with nothing else to offer. She’s just a good time at a party. She’s stupid, heartless, cold and useless. All she cares about is getting a guy to look at her. Why would anyone want to be her friend?”

Some of those things are true. Others were true. They’re all hurtful.

None of it matters.

I’m ready to make the hard choices. I’m ready to face the consequences. I’m ready to be the girl I was before, and I’m done being the one who lost her way.

I’m ready to become the girl Houston Orr sees when he looks at me.

Houston isn’t a star athlete. He doesn’t play in a band. He’s never going to be president, and his life is so far away from simple and easy it isn’t even funny. He wasn’t part of my plan. But I’m starting to think plans are overrated, and maybe our stories are what we make them. And mine depends entirely on me, and the choices I make…starting now.

Houston is my fairytale. He’s perfectly imperfect. He’s poetry and life. He’s truth and heartbreak, all rolled up in a tall body with dark hair, broad shoulders and green eyes that lull me into submission. He’s nothing I ever thought I wanted, but the very thing I need. He’s the only guy I’ve ever really loved, and he thinks I’m a princess. I fell into him, and now I’m holding on.

But sometimes life takes away our ability to choose. Sometimes…things aren’t in your control. Sometimes, it hurts to be selfless. My only hope is that when it comes time to choose, I get it right.

Welcome to my once upon a time and wish for happily ever after.

My Review:  Oh how I have enjoyed this series.  The Girl I Was Before is the third and final book in Ginger Scott's Falling Series, and is Paige's story,  I have to say that Paige was my least favorite of the girls in this series, but I thoroughly enjoyed how Ginger Scott portrayed her in this story and made her into a person that I not only really like, but also into a great heroine, especially considering where she came from, what she went through, and the way things played out.  As for Houston, I totally loved him.  He's not a bad boy, but he is totally hot, and such a great person who is absolutely perfect for Paige.  There's a lot more to him and to the situation, but I don't want to spoil it for you, just know that what you find out will be totally worth reading the novel and waiting for.  Paige and Houston's is a different type of romance, one that was wonderful, sweet, sexy, but also one that involved some really important and tough choices.

For fans of the series, yes....we get to see Nate and Rowe, as well as Ty and Cass.  I loved all three of the books of the series, but I think that Cass and Ty's story in You and Everything After has been my favorite, as well as Ty being my favorite guy out of the series.  If you haven't read the books and met him yet, you are in for a treat.  All of Ginger Scott's books are so much more than just a fictional romance novels......going deep into issues and situations that are very serious and tough, but also excellently done and I can't tell you how I've enjoyed each and every novel.  Ginger Scott writes in such a way that you are transported into the story, connecting with it and the characters on a very personal level.  If you've not read anything by her yet, this is a great series to start with. I loved it and most definitely adding this to your TBR list.

  1. I haven't read this series but it's on my TBR pile. I love it when an author can take a character you didn't care for and help you see them as something more!

  2. This so sounds like my kind of read! Glad you liked it so much Ellen!

  3. Awesome review! I loved This is Falling and cannot wait to read more of this series. I wasn't sure about this one since it was going to be about Paige so I'm glad there's a different side to her shown!

Thanks for your comments. I love hearing from you!
