From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes another dark, sexy story…

Is she brave enough to give her heart to a man she only thought she knew?

He was the most charismatic man I’d ever met. Strong, tough, brave. Bold as hell. Something told me Tag Barton could have anything—anyone—he wanted...and he wanted me. It didn’t matter that he was wrong for me in practically every way possible. It didn’t matter that my father would hate it.

I couldn’t resist him. Even if I’d known who he really was and what he was really capable of.

When he suggested we pretend to be engaged, I thought he was the answer to all my problems. He wasn’t. And, in his wake, he left nothing but scorched earth and me, just another casualty of my father’s war.

Can I believe him now when he tells me he loves me?  Or is he nothing more than a beautiful, breathtaking lie?

My Thoughts:  Brave Enough is the third book in M. Leighton's Tall, Dark, and Dangerous Series.  Each book in the series is a companion novel, and can be easily read as a standalone.  I've enjoyed the series very much, but each book in the series is really very different.  Strong Enough, book #1 was filled with danger, suspense, murder, and was kind of downright raw and gritty.  I loved it.  Tough Enough, book #2 was good as well, but it was really nothing like Strong Enough.  In  Brave Enough, M. Leighton surprised me once again in that the third book in this series is nothing at all like the first or the second.  It was a very good romance and while it is considered a contemporary romance, the language, the setting, and the dialogue kind of had the feel of a little historical romance, at least to me.   Who would have thought that the sexy, dark, and dangerous former special ops guy Tag Barton, would have had that old school flare.  He was quite the romantic.

The story is set in the beautiful Chiara Vineyard, which the female love interest in the story, Weatherly O'Neal's family owns.  Tag's family has managed the vineyard for years, and during that time, what was once something Tag was not too fond of, has now become something he loves.  Weatherly's arrival was unexpected, but definitely not unwanted.  The sparks fly between she and Tag from the get go.  Weatherly is trying to escape her father and the "arranged marriage," he wants to force her into.  Tag helps her by devising a plan that will get her out it.  What starts out as fake, soon becomes very real for Tag and Weatherly.  Tag has secrets he hasn't shared, however, and when they are, things between them are suddenly not good at all.  Tag has his work cut out for him if he is going to overcome his deceit and win Weatherly back....after all, the heart wants what the heart wants, so he pulls out all the stops.

Needless to say, all of this makes for quite the enjoyable read, and enjoy it I did.  M. Leighton delivers another sexy hero in Brave Enough, one her fans will definitely enjoy getting to know.
