Review: Sweet Little Lies by Jill Shalvis from Avon
(Heartbreaker Bay #1)

Choose the one guy you can’t have . . .
As captain of a San Francisco Bay tour boat, Pru can handle rough seas—the hard part is life on dry land. Pru loves her new apartment and her neighbors; problem is, she’s in danger of stumbling into love with Mr. Right for Anybody But Her.
Fall for him—hard . . .
Pub owner Finn O’Riley is six-foot-plus of hard-working hottie who always makes time for his friends. When Pru becomes one of them, she discovers how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of that deep green gaze. But when a freak accident involving darts (don’t ask) leads to shirtless first aid, things rush way past the friend zone. Fast.
And then tell him the truth.
Pru only wants Finn to be happy; it’s what she wishes for at the historic fountain that’s supposed to grant her heart’s desire. But wanting him for herself is a different story—because Pru’s been keeping a secret that could change everything. . . .
My Thoughts: Sexy, fun, and romantic, Jill Shalvis' Sweet Little Lies, the first book in her new Heartbreaker Bay Series, delivers it all. Set in the beautiful San Francisco Bay area, Sweet Little Lies features Finn O'Riley, the oh so hot pub owner who works hard and had to grow up a lot sooner than he expected, something his close circle of friends are all aware of, and something his new "friend" Pru is acutely aware of. Pru is the female lead in the story. She is a selfless sweetheart who is funny, driven, and loves to have a good time. She only wants the best for Finn, but when that best involves her, the secret that she keeps might just be the end of she and Finn, before they really have a chance to get started.
Not only does Shalvis deliver an awesome romance between Finn and Pru. She also creates a circle of friends that are close, full of personality, and fun, setting the stage for more great books to come in this new series. That said, the secondary characters were awesome, and then there is Thor, the quirky little dog who you'll fall in love with as well.
Sweet Little Lies is a great beginning to another fantastic series that fans of Jill Shalvis, and contemporary fans in general will most certainly enjoy.
