 Riveted - cover
Welcome to the Review Tour for RIVETED by Jay Crownover, the third title in her Saints of Denver Series, a spinoff of her Marked Men Series, published by William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins.

About the Book
Everyone else in Dixie Carmichael’s life has made falling in love look easy, and now she is ready for her own chance at some of that happily ever after. Which means she’s done pining for the moody, silent former soldier who works with her at the bar that’s become her home away from home. Nope. No more chasing the hot as heck thundercloud of a man and no more waiting for Mr. Right to find her; she’s going hunting for him...even if she knows her heart is stuck on its stupid infatuation with Dash Churchill.

Denver has always been just a pit stop for Church on his way back to rural Mississippi. It was supposed to be simple, uneventful, but nothing could have prepared him for the bubbly, bouncy redhead with doe eyes and endless curves. Now he knows it’s time to get out of Denver, fast. For a man used to living in the shadows, the idea of spending his days in the sun is nothing short of terrifying.

When Dixie and Church find themselves caught up in a homecoming overshadowed with lies and danger, Dixie realizes that while falling in love is easy, loving takes a whole lot more work…especially when Mr. Right thinks he’s all wrong for you.

My Review:  I have thoroughly enjoyed Jay Crownover's Marked Men Series, as well as her Saints of Denver spinoff series.  I enjoyed getting to know the characters featured in each novel, as well as the characters from previous novels, and the secondary characters whose novels were yet to come.  In Riveted, we finally get to read the story of one of those "yet to come" characters that I've been dying to dive into.  Church has been a "broody badass mystery,"  I couldn't wait to see what was behind all that was Churh.  Needless to say, I was not disappointed.  That said, as much as I was looking forward to getting to know Church, I was equally excited to really get to know Dixie...and I must say that Dixie was absolutely delightful.  I just loved her.  She is just one of those characters that you connect with from the get go, love everything about, and whose personality just jumps off the pages at you.

Dixe and Church's story has been one of my favorite stories thus far, not only from the Saints of Denver Series, but also the Marked Men Series.  Dixie is truly the light to Church's darkness and they are perfect for one another, even if it seems impossible for them to get to the point where they are both on the same page about that.  Church's demons have haunted him for years and he has hurts that run so deep that even the best surgeon would have a hard time removing them.  Dixie, however, could see past all that, and even when it seemed like there was no hope, she still gave it her all.  The dark cloud composed of Church's broodiness and bleakness, which was confined within all that hot alpha badassery, was no match for the little redhead who's snarky, funloving, and "never give up" attitude was like a light that could penetrate even the deepest darkness.

The story itself was awesome and I thouroughly enjoyed taking a road trip from Denver down to Lowery Mississippi with Church and Dixie.  It wasn't an easy trip by far, and a lot happens to and with not only Church and Dixie, but also the family that Church left behind years ago,  Then there's an unforseen danger that adds that element of "edge of  your seat suspense" to the story.  That combined with all that hot, sexy romance makes Riveted one heck of a read.  You won't want to miss this one.

  9. Being raised by my grandparents, they were constantly buying, selling, & moving. We never lived anywhere more than 6 months to a year in any one place. I swore when I grew up I was never going to move again. Famous last words. I'm in our third house with dreams of moving to the country. And the one thing I've learned is ~ Home is wherever your family is.
